The 4c update kills all the map contacts(the red,blue,green ones.

Lesser map contact is adjusted off.


The 16vb1 works good. Lesser map contact off. (Shipping all around me like in stock.

I have cut the decay time by half. This makes even more shipping. I think

Everything is great..

But the 4c kills em all

What can I do?

Assuming by 4c update, you mean Stiebler's patch, it does nothing to the map contacts. If you want to have them but do not have them, something else got rid of them.

The .tga files for them are in <your sh3 install name>data/menu/gui/units. The file that affects them is at data/cfg, called "contacts.cfg".

What files I exactly need to put in the u tanker mod up to date?

I have the gwx map in stock but the milkcows are not there.

Looking on date for corientes. It says apperar 31.8.39
Starting a new campaign I'm at 3.9.39.

Kanarische inseln no corients.

First, if the V16b1 4c you have listed is Stiebler's patch, it will not work correctly without H.sie's patch applied first, especially the SH3.exe file patching.

Regarding milk cows, mines, etc. this (https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1194) mod adds them among other things.
Use it all or just parts.

That mod incorporates this (http://www.mediafire.com/file/df882y4adj3bgmh/Milk_Cows_Mod.rar/file) earlier, original milk cow mod if you'd rather use it.

Yes, and after patching your .exe with H.sie's patch, only use the options selector in Stiebler's patch, not the one in H.sie's patch.

- patch .exe with H.sie's patch.
- copy the .exe to Stiebler's patch folder.
- patch. exe with Stiebler's patch.
- run options selector found in Stiebler's.

The environment file should be applied last, with the Stiebler patch as H.sie's also contains an env. patch.
Last mod added overwrites anything similar before it.

Also, here's (http://www.mediafire.com/file/430u1e6g2asicm8/GWX3_Stiebler4B_Addon_for_V16B1.7z/file) a mod Stiebler made for GWX that has all the file editing work done to it already.

I realized the options i adjusted in v16 1 b where set different when I opened the exe with 4c.
I did change them back to have it identical with 16b1.

Where can I change the inbase time.

I never got used to commander. Barely tried....

I'd recommend Sh3 Commander.

It can be done manually though via the \documents\<your game install>\data\cfg\careers\<your skipper's name>\patrols.cfg

When the mis files are full of harbour traffic and shipping the simact can't handle and stops weather change once a 3 4 days if you are lucky.

The harbours and towns do absolutely now harm.
It runs fast like the stock.

But the shipping is different. Cut memmory low or something

Yes, adding items to any harbor increases the demands on the pc.

The icons that appear on the map are found in <game install>data\menu\gui\units.

Look for the tga files with UnitMship and UnitWship in the names. Three files for each.

You shouldn't be seeing colored contact icons with GWX. They should be all gray.

When they appear and where.

It's not in the contacts file.

Ah, ok. By "appearing of ships" do you mean graphically on the map ?

Should be but not sure as it was made much earlier than H.sie's patch. However, H.sie's patch only affects how the milk cow function works; it doesn't add them to the game like the other mod does.

If you choose to use the milk cow mod, be sure to look at it's files as there are some that will overwrite and/or be overwritten by others possibly.

Anything can be made to work with anything but it may require editing to do so.

Just to add to what John is saying, both GWX and NYGM also include Milk Cows in their respective campaign files as they stand.... so you won't need to add them if you use either.

I'm not sure about NYGM, but in GWX the F1 function key in-game will tell you when and where they are available... to include resupply ships that essentially work the same way. I'm sure that John can comment on their inclusion/use in NYGM.

Bacchus, are you aware of these mega mods ? If file editing doesn't appeal to you, give GWX 3.0 a try. It's an outstanding piece of work with a simple install.

NYGM is a great mod too, but without the install ease of GWX if that is something one desires/needs.

Gwx 30 will not work with real-time weather.

I can't stand the game withweather windchange all 5 days. It's horror stuck bug aaaaahhhhhh

It's a question of quality not quantity

The file contacts.cfg controls the icons appearing on the map. <game install>data\cfg.

Increasing the range will show more contacts the map. I think that's what you want ?

To answer your other question, there are quite a few Germans on the site, and even a German sub-forum towards the bottom of the main page.

Your English isn't bad though.

GWX, and any SH3 install, will work with simact 2016. Simply copy it into the game at your main game folder.

My gwx30 gold( searchlights all the time and daytime I think. The ones that shine on the flags.

I have now no searchlights.

I hit a bigger ship with torpedo .

After hit searchlights turned on( but different only two and not on the flags(good looking)) an then turned off.

2 torpedos hit. Ship is not going down goes away. Searchlights off.

What do you think.

Not sure if it will or not. But if you're using GWX ships and the non-GWX searchlight files, it may not.

GWX may have changed the ship .dat files regarding the searchlights. I don't know if they did or not.

You can always copy the GWX searchlight files into your library; that you'll know for sure the searchlight and ship files are compatible.

Or am I misunderstanding your problem ?

You are wrong. GWX does not cause problems with the sim.act or anything that triggers it.

Per Stiebler. "The devs for Silent Hunter 3 acknowledged publicly that there was a coding error in the weather control coded in file envsim.act. The visible effect was that 'foggy-storms' - thick fog or precipitations combined with winds at 15 m/s - could continue for weeks at a time."

Ok. Lets say it kills it on my system. It's a older one.
At start it works, but advancing the patrol and or use timewarp kills it one per 5 day back
The stock run smooth whatever I do.
X 1024 almost done the whole patrol.
The real-time works fine.

Also I do not use widescreen

The icons thing it exactly was I'm searching for.

About the searchlights,
I think with putting in the stock file into library .
I have activated to have the stock behavior..
Only 2 searchlights no matter if in the ship files of gwx ships have Moore.
And all will be very fine.

I am not sure if I will implement milkcow.

It's satisfaction enough to have the null patrol korrectet
