can someone in a future mod remove the cargo crates that come to surface when ship sunk. Apart from the fact they only have three sides, they also cover the sinking site of warships.

Whatever REL (prefix) is I put it or it wouldn't let me post.

There are a few mods that change the look of the "debris" involved, which is in the Library folder, appropriately named "debris.dat" file. Since there is no such thing as "gravity" in the 3D art world, it is difficult to have a "box" float appropriately, and I'm sure those partial "boxes" are supposed to represent boxes broken by the torpedo impact. A quick search of this site, and all I find is the SHIII version, but I know someone did one for SH4... :salute:

cheers. If they were partial boxes they would not float but go straight down.

i thought your response was funny. was it supposed to be funny?
no disrespect was intended...
sometimes, the things we say (or type) do not properly convey our frame of mind, so when they are read by others they may have qualities that one did not intend.

you are so right. What is written is not necessarily what is read. I was actually being serious in reality, crates with contents will sink once waterlogged, bits of crates will of course float. The crates in the game are all three sided cubes and, as per my original comment, about as much use in the game as a chocolate egg in a microwave.

Actually? Only a few are not complete cubes.
One could create animations to make them better looking in Game.
Like breaking up then sinking as Game time goes.
Better to complain about it then do something about it I guess.

I can fix this! you don't want any crates floating hmm?

Just lower the crates with S3D.
Then you'd never see them.
