Inserted the spy around midnight, backed off the coast about 10 miles and got jumped by a plane.

Tried my best to get under quickly but it was too late... dropped a spread of depth charges and sprung so many leaks i couldnt count em nearly! 2 in the forward torpedo room, one in the stern torpedo room, pipes in the forward toilet busted, hydrophone knocked out, radio knocked out, electric motor damaged, stern torpedo tube taking water. fortunately the sea was only 21 meters deep so we hit the sand. unfortunately 2 of my officers were killed in the attack along with a several crewmen.

I put my two engineers on the leaks in the forward torpedo room but quickly realized the stern torpedo room was taking on water worse. rushed them both back there to get started on repairs and it was a lost cause we were taking water so fast.

evacuated everyone to the command room and officers quarters, so all other compartments were closed off and I put the breathing equipment on everyone i could.

clicked on the bilge pump and crossed my fingers. the water by this time was almost all the way up to the turm hatch. all but six crewmen and two officers drowned.

took about an hour and a half in game i suppose but the water receded in the command room and officers quarters, so i opened up the forward torpedo room where the easiest leak to fix was by my estimation. of course when the hatch was open, water again flooded the command room and everything forward was about waist deep.

engineer stopped the leak in the forward torpedo room then repaired the leaky pipe. begin the bucket brigade bailing water into the command room bilge. eventually the command room all the way forward was dried out.

now the air was getting quite stale. had to start working our way aft to fix things to get to the ventilation system!

opened up the stern quarters and galley, the water spilled over into the command room about knee deep. bailed it with buckets and eventually got it dried out.

got back to the diesel engine room which was full to the brim of water, which when the hatch was opened of course reset the process of getting everything dried out, only ankle deep this time.

got the ventilation on and air quality went up considerably

buckets buckets buckets into the bilge, looking good, forward torpedo room all the way back to diesels were dried out, now the urgent leak in the stern torpedo room would need to be addressed. Opened the hatch, water rushed into the diesel engine room and i got my engineer in there on the hull breach. which he managed to repair.

only three items left to fix and we will float this thing and limp home :yeah:

stern torpedo leak fixed, repaired the hydrophones and radio.

i forgive the game for the CTD though... seems more stable after most recent patch, and all of that made for a heck of a subsim experience:shucks:

Great Story. This game really does have massive potential for storytelling and emergent gameplay.

There a reason why the devs call it a SURVIVAL sandbox game. xD

Struck by airplane, ALARM, crashdive, flooding, systems down, 3 man injured, working hard to recover, CRUSH DEPTH WARNING, needle slows down, stops and then sloooowly we rise. We made it!

The most immersive experience I've ever had playing a sub sim (played them all:).

The people not giving this game a chance are missing out.
