What's the best way to load the Kilo, Collins, etc.?

Hey guys,

I get a bit confused with the Kilo loadout (and, by extension, the other boats that use the same structure - such as Collins)

What's the best way to load the racks and (different sized) tubes for:

1. Torps only
2. Torps and say, 4 ASMs
3. Torps and mines
4. Torps and Klub missiles

Depends on the mission, game version and submarine in question.


For example if you are running an ASW mission in a pr.06361 and with the mod that properly sims it, then you are going to go with torps only because it would be a choice between wireguided torps or the missiles for the two top TTs as they are the only ones that could use either.

Sorry, I maybe didn't ask the question properly - how do you load the racks so that all the torps get used?

Two tubes are a different diameter, I'm currently in a Kilo, with all my torps expended, except one Test-71, and it won't load into any tubes!:k_confused:

Sadly I did not play the game for a long time.


But on majority of kilos the TEST-71 can only be loaded into TTs from the upper racks.

What you mean by "won't load"?

TEST-71 can be loaded into tubes 5 & 6

Tubes 5 & 6 do NOT uses the same storage like other tubes (1-4)

They have own "racks"

Kilo can carry 6 wireguided TEST-71 torpeoes:
- 2 in tubes
- 2 in rack for tube 5
- 2 in rack for tube 6

Test-71 is only one wireguided torpedo in Kilo loadout and tubes 5 & 6 are "wireguided capable".
