Grey Wolf - a browser project.

Happy New Year to all SubSimmers!
I’ve got up the courage to put on the web my small U-Boat project “Grey Wolf” (http://uwolf.net). “Grey Wolf” is the online browser game designed to follow the destiny of an U-boat commander in the Battle for Atlantic. The project is in early development and shows only the basic mechanics.
It is not the U-Boat simulator. Attacks are done schematically and a patrol mission may be completed in about 10 minutes.
The game is based on real U-Boat statistic. At the moment it covers the period from September 1939 to December 1940, but the game is limited for two patrols because of the testing purposes.
The project is full of bugs and lots of work needs to be done, so I need your feedback by email info@uwolf.net, or through the ingame contact form.

Restrictions (!!!):
- works only in Chrome, Opera, doesn't work in Internet Explorer and Firefox;
- the mobile version is avliable (PC version is not working due to the technical works).

Features:
- based on real U-Boat patrol statistics (actually the ships traffic intensity is approximately 25 % higher than statistics data);
- the game puts you in U-boat commander’s shoes and changes your feelings from a great success in the beginning to desperate hope to survive as the war continues;
- you may pass the patrol in a short time. For those who don’t have a year or more to complete the whole campaign.

Plans:
- make patrols and campaigns for 1941-1942 years;
- improve (actually remake) game graphics: interface, models of the ships, effects, etc.:
- make the Kriegsmarine grid;
- add type II, IX, VIIA, VIIB U-Boat models;
- improve crew management and implement dozens of new features.

The main goal is to make multiplayer with wolfpacks and scoring system, but it is a great challange.

Fixes:
- visibility at night was improved;

- patrols for 1939-1940 are ready (feedback after two patrols is needed to continue the campaign);
- captain's statistic page is avaliable (promotions, patrols, biography, fate) - icon with the folder;
- you may save the captain's statistics - see attached screenshots;
- bug report button;
- small fixes.
Career generator is in the early development and is a little buggy.

I therefore look forward to hearing your proposals and views on how to improve the project.

Another captain, Paul Schmidt.
Achieved the tonnage record of 272739 tonns, and was decorated with Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Crossed Swords.
Successfully survived the war.

The project was adapted for mobile devices.

Mobile version is the improved version of the PC demo.
Main chandes:
- interface and controls were adapted to mobile devices;
- torpedoes loading, route drawing, navigation, map zoom were improved;
- fuel calculation feature for the route laid added;
- maximum amount of charges dropping by the escort ships was increased from 7 to 12;

The first mobile captain Ditrich Decke met his destiny in the waters of North Atlantic. It was not a good idea to attack the convoy with damaged fuel tank and gydrophones.

I tried using Chrome on an iPad running iOS v12 and got the message that the browser was not supported. It suggested Chrome and Opera bit I was already using Chrome.

PC version shall be avaliable in about a week or two. New features shall be added:
Kriegsmarine grid, mine lying operations, advanced crew management system, etc.

- The PC version is available.It also works on mobile devices.

- Kriegsmarine grid added to the project. Many squares are missing, but existing squares cover 1939-1940 patrol roots.

- Minelaying operations. You may be assigned for mine-laying patrol, although the chance of it is about 8%.

- New crew management system. U-boat сrew experience affects the dive speed, torpedo and gun fire, etc.

- Minor effects are added: smoke, splashes, ship damage, etc.

- Bugs are fixed.

Currently I am working on adding 3D water to the 2D browser project. It will take approximately 1 month to create the initial version.
