crash at career startup

Installed SHIII from steam, installed GSW Gold. Can do naval academy, but when I setup a career and try to run it, the red bar gets about 7/8 of the way, then stops. A window pops up saying windows has encountered a problem and offers to close or debug. Debug goes to a black screen and close simply returns me to desktop.

Came up from the depths and got into flight sim and World of Warships for a while. Now I try to get back into SHIII and the steam install and GSW Gold aren't allowing for a career. Back to the surface I guess.

You need to run Windows 10 in a compatibility mode for SH3.

Go to your steamapps/common/Silent Hunter 3 folder and check if the game is running in compatibility mode: "Windows XP Service Pack 3" and the "run as administrator" box is checked. That should solve your problems.:salute:

Run your applications as administrators.
