Cold Waters version 1.12 is now available as an open beta and is a major update containing the full South China Sea campaign. Seawolf, Los Angeles Flight 2 and Los Angeles Flight 3 submarines are now also available as playable submarines.

To opt in to the beta:
Right click the Cold Waters in Steam library, go to properties and you should have new "BETAS" tab added, then use the pulldown to select the beta you would like to opt into -leave the early access code empty- and the new update should download. When you run the game the version number should read version 1.12.

Keep getting my butt handed to me on the new campaign with a Seawolf on elite difficulty. Thought I had this game mastered, at least previously on the 1984 campaign. Time to develop a bunch of new shallow water tactics! Thank you Killerfish games for making one of my favorite sub games even better.

Enjoying the beta, a lot!

Not sure if Killerfish monitors this thread, but some thoughts:

1) When identifying the Oil Rig, the crew member doesn't know what type of contact it is and skips the vocal portion

2) Not sure if there is any change to the sensors, weapons acquiring etc, but I find it a bit more of an improvement

3) The wires cut even on low angles seem to be much higher.

4) The noise level of the Seawolf is a bit higher than the Yasen? Was this done so the Seawolf would have a bit of a challenge? Not quite sure I would believe that if attempting to keep to a realistic theme.

Enjoying the beta, and the Seawolf looks incredible.

Seems like noise makers, moss, and knuckles don't work against those yellow torpedoes.

Is this a bug?

Dunno about you people, but the seafloor in the SCS seems much more beautiful to me.

Needs more background Intel. Which ports do what, which countries are actively involve and in what manner. The Soviet scenario is simple in this manner.

Just seems that this is a coalition environment in comparison. I am not sure how smuggling and blockade runners are identified. Unless that is a part of the sonar frequency database for individual ships.

A lot of very nice improvements.

Aside from a few of the things many have mentioned, I am curious to know why when my SeaWolf class submarine gets waxed, why another is not available to choose from at the port screen after choosing to abandon ship? I have all of the other boats available to choose from, though. Is it a bug, or is it in line with the few SeaWolf class submarines that were produced?

Oh, yeah, a big shout out to KFG for adding this campaign free of charge! Most companies would include such a thing for a few as DLC.

Great game! Great job of fixing and adding!!

The USS Connecticut should be available in the pool of ships too as she was active by the time of the Y2K scenario IIRC. Not sure if it's a random chance to get another shot at commanding another Seawolf-class sub or if it's bugged.

Looking at the files, It looks like the Seawolf is only boat available of the class. Connecticut could be added but that still only leaves you with 2 boats.

Yesterday I was in Seawolf up against a Kilo, it fired a TEST-71M at me. My Mk48 sunk it but we had been so close that its torp still acquired me some 4 min later probably at the very edge of its acquisition cone. Nothing worked on it: it homed straight onto the decoys and didnt care at all about knuckles, and there was not enough depth to outmaneuver it. In hindsight I should have just fired the MOSS when I realized there was a risk of being acquired.

I have previously been able to avoid wire guided torps even when their firing platform was still alive, whats up? Reading the game files, the torpedoes of the two Kilos have nothing special...

Known bug fixed in beta version 1.14.
