Will Sonalysts Ever Do It Again?

Last I knew, Sonalysts was reportedly working on a new game engine, some sci-fi thing.

We have Cold Waters, but that only goes so far, and I guess the Silent Service DLC for CMANO counts for something.

But I'm still playing Sub Command, too, as well as Dangerous Waters, and I might even break out 688i one of these days.

The bottom line here, though, is the big question.

Do you think that Sonalysts (or anybody else, for that matter) will ever create a modern submarine simulator again?

When Sonalysts released its sci-fi game a few years ago, the scuttlebutt said that it was something in preparation for the possibility of a new naval sim. The rumors never went beyond that and I imagine that the changes in computing in the intervening time have created complications. If there is any newer information, I am unaware of it as I have not been here in a while.

Have you looked at "Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations" yet? It's "Fleet Command" and then some. I like it a lot and I'm an old "Fleet Command" player.

Yea, I'm going to have to work very hard not to get excited over this. Thankfully I have games like SH5 and other sub"sim" games that help me not get excited about new releases.

But if this is a return to form!!!!!! NO! I..won't..get..excited.............
