This is the very first mod that I've uploaded publicly.

(Shameless Copy and Paste from the readme)
This mod has been under development on and off for six months. Thought it isn't as complete as I would have liked, I am starting to grow tired of working on this. Thus, I am releasing it in it's current state.

This mod's original goal was to create a more accurate representation of the main japanese naval harbours. Alongside those, it also adds new harbours on the US Western coast and in the Indian Ocean, as well as some modifications to several existing harbours. All new harbours will have vessels occupying them. I haven't added harbour defenses to any of them, though.

I have also added two new campaign files: one represents the activities of the Imperial Japanese Navy during the final year of the war; the other models the minefields deployed during Operation Famine, a large scale mining operation beginning on 26th March, 1945.

In game, you will find the major japanese warships in their historical mooring spots. Some will be changing spots depending on the date. Only the major changes are modeled. I have also filled the new harbours with late war versions of existing ships.
The minefields will progressivly thicken as time goes on. They will prevent you from reaching the main harbours and gaining easy tonnage. The japanese will be cleaing out lanes for ships to traverse. You can find and navigate them, but don't forget the way out when you anger neighbouring destroyers!

The mod was built on Trigger Maru, with Run Silent, Run Deep Campaign. It should work on all versions of RSRDC, although I have only tested it with TMO and RFB.

Installation:
- Extract and place the mod into your MODS folder (make sure that the folder has "data" when it is opened)
- Load it up with JSMGE
- Add to names.cfg in "Roster" the following line:
DDYokaze=Minekaze Destroyer

Notes:
- I haven't been able to replicate Yokosuka, since the terrain upon which the harbour is built is modeled after the modern version. Thus, I have decided to make today's version, with some liberties.
- Except Seattle, San Pedro and Vancouver, the new american harbours have been built without regards for historical accuracy.
- Some buildings in Nagoya are in the water. I'm letting it be for now, as they are only visible in a overhead view, and I wanted to get this version out of development.
- The island next to which battleship Hyuga was moored against doesn't exist ingame. As such it is currently floating SW of it's historical position.
- I may have placed too many mines.

We'd have to check "interoperability", but would you mind if we include your work in the Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate mod, and in the Climb Mount Niitaka mod? Your name, of course, would be in the credits. In both cases though, we may have to re-work certain aspects, but adding-in missing docks is easy enough work. Somewhere in one of the posts around here, I pointed out the basics of doing such. I'll see if I can find that later today... :salute:

Hi Faith
I would like to say publicly thank you for taking the time and trouble on producing something new for SH4.:Kaleun_Salute:
I certainly for one will look forward to seeing it in FOTRSU in the future.

Thank you very much Faith. First glance at what you did, we'll have to do some careful merging, since yours is based on RSRDC, but a few Type= changes, and taking my time while editing (I'm famous for running things over from going too fast with the "Replace" feature of the editor), and we'll have your extras included. Thanks again! :salute:

It will be incorporated into FotRSU, but as it stands right now, will NOT work with FotRSU v0.63, due to the Campaign.cfg file, and several of the MIS files being not only completely different, but having different Type= calls for certain ships. As such, it would not only bugger things up, but would also crash the game on you if you install it now. Faith uses a modified TMO / RSRDC, which is quite different from FotRSU.

There were a few mistakes and some stats that I've forgotten to modify in the original release. So here's version 1.1:
- fixes some errors in dates, spawn locations and number of spawns.
- ships next to the Singapore sea wall were on the wrong side. Moved to correct position.
- Adds basic british harbour traffic to Singapore

Still no harbour traffic for Vancouver (yet).
And to confirm what propbeanie said, ths is a RSRDC based mod. It will NOT work with any other modification that isn't based on this new campaign.

See? You mean, as in "eye sight"? I did get one of those three page prescriptions at the eye doctor's the other day, but since I can't afford new glasses, I'll just do the modding by feel... whooops! that's not a dock!... :har:

I'd love to see it, but I am only running FOTARSU v0.63 and have decided to wait until your mod is incorporated by the mod team. That said, from the pictures it's going to be a marvelous enhancement. You've obviously put a lot of time and effort into this, and that is much appreciated. Thanks! :Kaleun_Salute:

Hello Faith,

I have just created a new folder:

https://preview.ibb.co/cbSmTb/Capture.png (https://ibb.co/j4zcZG)

Just leaving Pearl, for a sight seeing tour of the new harbors.

Allied first... I'm heading to Seattle / West Point / Vancouver first.

Will report in, once I arrive sir..:salute:

I hope you don't mind, I've added your mod to my mod collection, see link on my sig.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Faith,

I have made an optional mod for you - this will unlock the next / previous unit camera within TMO 2.5.

This will allow people to enjoy the hard work you have put in.

The changes made are to the /data/cfg/commands.cfg and are highlighted by Rockin Robbins here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2402875&postcount=10)

I wish to apologize.
s7rikeback's sightseeing tour has brought to my attention a large number of issues with the US harbours (with the exception of West Port, Seattle and San Pedro). Bad alignement, duplication, poor harbour placement... One harbour doesn't have any ships! I have no excuse for releasing a mod in this state.

Real life issues means a fix for all this will come in 2 weeks at earliest.
Sorry

Faith

After two weeks and a few days, here's version 1.21, which fixes the issues with all US harbours. I've also done a few adjustements to Singapore and Ominato. Once again, please report any issues you find.
I also confirm that this mod works with Real Fleet Boat and RSRDC.

There is a small issue that I can't seem to figure out. Whenever I pass close to San Pedro or Huemene, the fishing boats start accelerating away in a straight line. They all have the "docked" button ticked. I have only seen this happen in RFB. :hmmm:
Has anyone noticed this sort of issue before ?

propbeanie
02-13-18, 11:57 AM
I've not seen that, but it has been a while since I did RFB. Collision avoidance??
When you set the vessels to "Docked", are you also setting the speed to "0" (zero)? Also, the "Delete on last waypoint" should always be unchecked when the "Docked Ship" is ticked on. Have you looked under the vessels to make sure there is plenty of clearance beneath their hulls? Make certain that you have US fishing boats there. Do the Type= and Class= lines in the Sea and Roster CFG files match what the Campaign MIS files have?...

I've gotten your update, and we'll attempt to incorporate some of this into FotRSU. It might not make this next beta version, but we'll get it translated eventually. :salute:

I think I can definitely say that it's the ground clearance. Everything checks out in the mission editor.
It actually add a certain dynamic to harbours. I'll leave it as it is for now, since it seems only a RFB issue.

I think it's great what you do there ... the work looks really good.
Unfortunately, I have not tested it yet, although your work would certainly be an asset to my "ModSoljanka".
I've just lost my appetite for more than half a year - it would still do so much, lots of loose ends in my concept (but the player does not notice, since my compilation is stable), which could still be adjusted but require a tremendous amount of work would.
Unfortunately, the feedback for my compilation and my own efforts are too small...

For all those wondering, I'm in the closing stages of a new version. It will focus on the little known harbours of northern Japan.

Right now, I need help from any japanese speaker.
I've been looking at the late war campaign file I've made to correct a few mistakes and to readjust the positioning of the larger japanese warships. So far I've done partial translations and quite a bit of deduction from descriptions and photographs, but it isn't enough anymore.

Can anyone tell me what is the name of the ship at the bottom left, next to Kitakami?
https://s9.postimg.org/le8std72n/Gunkan_Haichi7.jpg

And could anyone give me the names of each ship on this map?

I'm really sorry everyone, but the new version will be coming out later than expected. I'm currently heavily loaded with work, and don't have much time to dedicate to the mod. I don't want to give an estimated release date, so please be patient.

This took far longer than it should have been.
New version 1.23 released. There's a lot of new stuff here, so I hope it's worth the wait.

Changelog
-Modified harbours: Fushiki, Muroran, Niigata, Hakodate, Higashi-Wase, Tsuruga, Kagoshima, Naha, Itoman, Shanghai
-Removed harbour traffic at Naha and Itoman (Okinawa never had any big harbours)
-New Harbours: Nagoya, Tokuyama.
-Rearranged elements in Yokosuka and Hong Kong
-Rebuilt Maizuru
-Fixed Priorities in map appearence. Big harbours will appear first now, followed by smaller ones. Now all 4 main IJN naval harbours will appear first, Seattle will appear alongside San Francisco and San Diego, ect...
-New coastal defenses for US Coast (San Pedro, Astoria, Panama nonhistorical, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle historical)
-New minefields : historical Manilla, San Francisco minefields, several ahistorical/uncertain minefields
-New ship : Target Ship Yakaze

I just realised that I put a minefield for Manilla without any instructions for the way in or out

https://s9.postimg.cc/hs5lwapgv/Corregidorminefield.jpg

I arranged the minefields as shown on this map. Follow the indications and you should come out unharmed. DO NOT cross the channel underwater as there's still mines at the entrances, set at a deeper depth.
