I know this was an issue in WW2 IRL when launching multiple torpedoes at the same target - you had to space the launch interval a bit this way when the first torpedo explodes on its target it will not damage or destroy the second.

explosions in close proximity to your sub cause damage so should explosions in close proximity to other torpedoes also damage them?

in a situation where you have two or three torpedoes trailing you, just a few meters apart for example, and one reaches its limit and detonates, would this not disable, damage or destroy any other torpedoes sufficiently close to the detonation?

i had a few torpedoes i was evading and i also got dept charged, one of the dept charges exploded probably 5 feet from one of the torpedoes, but it shouldered the shock-wave and kept on trucking

is there a way to make torpedoes destroy-able objects?

Maybe...
We're also considering surface units using RBUs to take out incoming torpedoes as apparently the RBU1000 does indeed have this capability in real-life.

For now though torpedoes only recognise collisions with vessels and terrain.

I've noticed that they also don't seem to see the surface either. I've seen torpedoes broach in heavy seas, and they just seem to keep going in a straight line, regardless of how long they are out of the water.

I’m thinking that torpedoes within close proximity (<10ft?)to detonations will also detonate.

A little further away say maybe 11-13ft will have propulsion or depth keeping or maybe targeting knocked out or damaged in some way.

14-16 ft away will be knocked a bit off course momentarily and then return to search mode

Any further away the blast will have no effect

EDIT: if they don’t already simulate it, exploding torpedoes need to have a blast radius which will also damage the player sub or any AI units
