WoS - Soundman never detect coastal boats?

Hey all,
I encountered several times coastal boats. But the soundman never spot them on the hydrophone, even when I get below 1km from them...

The first time ok, but yesterday I encountered 2 of them in patrol and the soundman never spot them, I was under 500m from them...

Strange?
