Does anyone know of a fix for the dialogue boxes being too small to read on newer computers? I have seen several posts highlighting this problem but, as of yet, no solution.

I'll take that as a no then.

You are talking about error dialogs? I don't know of any others.
What resolution are you using on desktop and game?

I've tried every resolution from 3840 x 2160 down to 800 x 600, I've also changed the size of text, apps and other items from 250% (Recommended) to the maximum of 350% that enlarged the boxes a little but still far too small to comfortably read.

I have absolutely no idea what I did but I've managed to get the boxes to a readable size. I also have no idea how to get my computer back to it's original settings but so far it doesn't seem to adversely affect any other programs. I've enclosed a screenshot does it look about right? (I will post a photo when I've figured out how to do it).

If the UI is too small:
Go to Options, Video Tab and increase the HUD size slider value.

Now we know you are referring to the in-game "manual" screens.
Assuming you are not using an emulator, the best resolution settings for most games is to set the game AND your desktop to the SAME Resolution and 100% DPI. This has the best chance of matching the same environment the developers tested the game at. I'm guessing your computer desktop is non-English.

Desktop icons:
A lot of people used to WinXP would increase the DPI to increase the size of desktop icons. This is no longer necessary in Win7, 8 and 10. You can set desktop icons to three different sizes independent of resolution and DPI in these OSes. Desktop and game to the same native resolution as your monitor (usually the max setting available = "suggested") and DPI to 100% will solve your problem.
