How to save ?

Hi guy's
Im playing for a few day's this game ,and i love it !...But when i play the campaign option ,i wonder how i can save he game when i'm in a game (campaign game ) not single mission ...When i quit the game and i start it again , i cant load the current campaign game ,i think i do something wrong ..but what ?

Press escape while on the strategic map screen / not in combat, hit save.

Alternatively the Auto-Save feature in this works pretty good and saves before each battle.
