The question have to do you doglegging your torp. If I fire a torp within the wire guidance parameter and let it run out a couple thousand yards then turn it sharply toward the target by changing the activation point. How would the game calculate the chance for wire breakage?

As long as the torpedo stays within the 60 degree forward arc, wire breakage should be minimal.

This is why I did a test to confirm that the two tubes on the left were indeed the two Port tubes, so the tubes on the right are Starboard. I confirmed this so I can pick the tubes w/ the smallest target angle.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess it was a bit simplified as it wasn't taking into account that it will take a while for the couple thousand yard of wire that was within the cone to actually move out of the cone after the torp exited the cone but I guess I can work with that, just turn the sub towards the torp position to keep it within the cone as long as possible.
