Hi,

I would like to explain you how it is possible to add a detailed emblem on the turms of U-boats made by Wise (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=212557).

The method consists in adding the emblem directly on the turm's texture. For this, I use Paint.net, but any software using layers can do the job.

The mod contains the turms' textures of Wise turms. You can also download other textures here : ftp://Maik:Woelfe@hartmuthaas.no-ip.org/Public/Sharing/SH3COMMUNITYMODS/AHNENERBE/German%20U-Boats%20Compilation%202%20(only%20VIIB%20&%20VIIC%20models%20by%20WISE).7z

My mod contains an example with the blue fish emblem.


- TURM-VIIA.tga is for 7b1 turm

- TURM-VIIB.tga is for 7b2 turm

- TURM-VIIC.tga is for 7c1 turm


1. Open the turm's texture of your choice : TURM-VIIA.tga, TURM-VIIB.tga or TURM-VIIC.tga

2. Resize it in order the size is 2048 x 2048 pixels

3. Add a new layer (open the layers window)

4. Open my mask and paste it in this new layer : the black zones corresponds to the location of the emblem (starboard, middle and port side). On the picture, you can see where they are on the turm.

5. Add a new layer and paste your emblem on the black zones.

6. Delete the first layer (containing the black zones), and merge the second one (emblems) with the turm's texture (background).

7. Save the modified tga file.

8. Activate the mod with JSGME after Wise mods.

Do you know how to change flags on wise turms especcialy the pirate flag?

No I am talking about U boat compilation that mod On VIIB Has a aditional flag which is pirate flag I don't like that pirate flag I would like to put my own created flag

Anyway, I don't welcome "default" emblems because, they look, as new posters and don't fit in "rubbing and scratches" of towers, as if they had just been glued.

I followed yours inctruction to put this flag over pirate flag but no changes :<

Now the pirate flag is completly white Like SUrrender flag I noticed what original pirate flag image is seprated in to 4 parts Mines photo is not

Where to replace files in wac5.01 tried without changing structure with JGSME no diffrences

I think you can only with type 7b in WAC 5.01

Because the file structure is only for Compilation 2,in WAC 5.01
only turm VIIb.dat is compatible with Compilation 2

Not that it could be done for other types

If we talk about emblems ?
