Trying to install the report generator, followed instructions.When I try to set the path, it gives me a message " invalid file name" despite having the correct file selected per the instructions. Anyone ?

You may need to hand edit the *.ini file in Saved Games, however if you first select the location where your game is installed it should have worked.

My *.ini file:

SubRonName=14
ComandersName=Name
Rank=LTCDR
PatrolArea=Dummy
ModdedOn=true
HtmlOn=false
TorpedoDataOn=true
SectionSpacesOn=true
WeatherDataOn=true
GetWarningsOn=true
GetordersOn=true
GamePath=C:\GAME_SH4\Silent Hunter Wolves PTC

Happy Hunting!

Delete your *.ini file in \My Documents\SH4\data\cfg\SaveGames (the Report Generator goes here) - This can be done with the Report Generator delete ini file button, I do it manually, then highlight your games modded location in the drop down 'tree' in the right window; C:\GAME_SH4\Silent Hunter Wolves PTC - the location will turn blue. Press the 'Set SH4 Path' button top right, and it will change to a 'Change SH4 Path' button.

This should work.

Kim's Help File:
The program should be located in the -
..Documents/SH4/data/cfg/SaveGames directory
It should automatically find all your saved games
Just double click on the appropriate saved game
The program then creates the report and copies it to the Clipboard
You can only change the SubRon Number
the program auto-saves all changes !!
Initially you have to set the path to your SH4 program
find the path and click on it
then press the setSh4path button

That's all Folks! - Kim Ronhof 2009

Deleted INI file. Still says invalid file when I try to set the path as direct in the readme. I am running TMO and RSRD. Does this matter?

No, it should recognize them (TMO & RSRD), and expect to find a MODS folder.

Can you open the *.ini file with Notepad and copy/paste it here? Maybe we can hand edit it if this '3rd time is the charm' doesn't work. The Report Generator is in the main Documents\SHT\data\cfg\SaveGames folder with all the 00000004 folders. (The T is for TMO)

SubRonName=14
ComandersName=Name
Rank=LTCDR
PatrolArea=Dummy
ModdedOn=true
HtmlOn=false
TorpedoDataOn=true
SectionSpacesOn=true
WeatherDataOn=true
GetWarningsOn=true
GetordersOn=true
GamePath=C:\GAME_SH4\Silent Hunter Wolves PTC

Using Multi SH4 I have several installs:

SubRonName=14
ComandersName=Name
Rank=LTCDR
PatrolArea=Dummy
ModdedOn=true
HtmlOn=false
TorpedoDataOn=true
SectionSpacesOn=true
WeatherDataOn=true
GetWarningsOn=true
GetordersOn=true
GamePath=C:\GAME_SH4\Silent Hunter Wolves Mod

Maybe delete the *ini again (sorry). In the right window, Click the C: drive first, then scroll down the Tree to where your SH4 Wolves is installed, and click that folder. Your Saved Games should magically appear in the left window.
