steam + wolves of steel !!!!!

I must be very stupid. I have found the wolves of steel sticky page which gives you 5 clear steps (NOT FOR STEAM VERSION]. Is there one for steam version? or simply not recommended for steam at all?

What are the steps to install the mod for steam? OR Which of the 5 steps would be different? I keep seeing info about a generic mod patcher for steam, but i have no idea what that is or why i need it. thank you for your help. I am so desperate to get this to work.

thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I did somehow manage to get wos installed to my steam sh5 game!! Had very little confidence I could do it lol!. I am now spending forever trying to figure out how to aim torpedos... and sheeesh I need to go back to college to figure this out hahahah.

Remember
Steam is not compatible with TDW's Generic File Patcher.
This is an essential application for SH5.

You can use any mods with Steam.
With TWOS you must use the GFP.
