Hi everyone!

Im glad to release my new unit: Queen of Bermuda

Based on SH5 converted Rawalpindi Auxiliary Cruiser (thanks Ubisoft), and my other precedent units for small parts (structure of unit is also based on my Empress of Britain and Queen Mary from UBOAT234).

Thanks to Subsim community for help in develope my most complex and "experimental" project (as someone say me).

Thanks to Jeff-Groves, Gap, Kendras, Wise and the_frog and everyone give me ideas\advice\helps about realize this strange, weird, funny work.

Huge thanks for the_frog who help me with strange lights\reflections problems, and for propellers bronze finiture..

Please use readme for others info! =)

Please test her in museum first, during different war years. Report here if all is normal and ok for you :salute:
You'll found her into both british civil and military also ships.

I know there are a lot of things that could be improved into this unit.
It's a little more than a Beta Version.
Everyone interested fell free to ask permission, improve her and release better versions =)

Best regards,
Vd.

I don't quite understand why two of the same ship with different names are needed?

Hi pal
I dont know why but taking ctd in a clean installation with gwx3 and your ships. If i remove the ships museum works fine

:hmmm::hmmm:

@nik112 and Jeff-Groves

Please download this version: https://www.sendspace.com/file/hmkt79

This remove in both civil and military .cfg files those strings:

[AirGroup 1]
StartDate=19400101
EndDate=19430331
Squadron1Class=LBSWalrus
Squadron1No=1

Does this solve?

Best regards,
Vd

Oh yeah, the Walrus air group issue. I forgot about it so many times.
von Dos, welcome to the club :D

For me it ssems just natural to have the Walrus installed. I have always been wondering why it was not included in GWX. The Kingfisher, the Arado, even the japanese A6M2 are around but not the Walrus ...

Into museum you say?
You should see the same unit into civil and military section of british ships.
PQB is civilian ocean liner, while PMB is military aux cruiser.
Both appears to be Liner\Amc\Troop transport during different years.
Please try to find her as a cruiser near to standard AuxCruiser =)

Oh sorry, i see now :-(

Well, if you want to separate, for example, ocean liner only, you should work on .eqp file inside your PQB unit. Look at parts using 3ditor in library directory (all involved dat files includes "Vondos" into name). You must annotate only liner parts (often AMC and TT parts includes "war" word into they label/name, while TT stand forma troop transport). When found alla liner's parts you need to re-write .eqp file using ocean liner parts only from i.e. Jan 01 1939 to Dec 31 1945 as entry and exit dates, matching every parte with same correct node as original eqp.

Mmm i don't know how to explain this better :-p sorry for my bad english.

Best regards,
Vd

Dat files in library directory (VondosQOB.dat, VondosQOB2.dat & VondosQOB3.dat) should be opened with S3Ditor, while eqp files (NPQB_.eqp & NPMB_.eqp) should be opened with notepad (or any text\writing app, worpad, word ecc)

Hi!
Everything not related with civil version, as you can see in library files with 3Ditor.
And unnecessary guns also.
Remember to rework equipment numbers, they must be sequentially: [Equipment 1], [Equipment 2] ecc

That is because the main nodes in S3D are set to 'hidden'.

Water reflections are missing, too.

:hmmm: main nodes in sea\npmq.dat are set to "hidden", this ir right, they should NOT be visualized, because objects are replaced by library equipment\3d models. Nik112 is trying to make is own version, modding eqp file. Here are missing parts (2 funnels, masts, lifeboats, windows\oblos and hull). I need to read his reworked .eqp file to find if parts are missing or not working (for example for wrong entry\exit dates, or non sequentially numbered, or non correct nodes placement...)

For example, for add hull he should add these lines:

[Equipment XX]<-- where xx is equipment progressive number
NodeName=P29 <-- related node
LinkName=VdHull <-- library's 3d object name
StartDate=19380101 <-- Entry date of the object \ start
EndDate=19451231 <-- Exit date of the same object \ end

Hi gang
That's the modified eqp file.
I had opened VondosQOB.dat and VondosQOB2.dat with s3d and those equipments who were refering to the liner deleted.

@vd "Nik112 is trying to make is own version, modding eqp file."
To be clear i want to have in my installation 1 ship folder in data/sea and to see that ship in museum or campaign and all this conversation exists because i don't like to have civil liners. That's why i asked for your help.

cheers and Happy Easter

Happy Easter you and everyone too :Kaleun_Cheers:

Well, some little things at first view:

[Equipment 54]
NodeName=P29
LinkName=VdHullTT
StartDate=19430401
EndDate=19451231

Hull you choose to use (troop transport version) had 19430401 as start date. So you'll not able to see it until 1943. Change StartDate to 19380101 for solve. Actually if you use eqp you post, ship hull will appear ok late in war, check museum for reference.

Similar change is needed for most of military objects.

[Equipment 20]
NodeName=P24
LinkName=VdCommanda
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19391231

[Equipment 21]
NodeName=P24
LinkName=VdWarCommanda
StartDate=19400101
EndDate=19451231

Same object, first is civil version, last is military. Please replace "VdCommanda" with "VdWarCommanda", or delete VdCommanda's lines and replace 19400101 with 19380101.

[Equipment 25]
NodeName=P31
LinkName=VdPipe
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19391231

All "VdPipe" objects are used only in civil version. In military version they're replaced by VdMush (see Equipment 65 for example). You don't need them. VdCol also are civil objects, you need to replace them with military parts you'll find into library.

Also note that S03, S04, S05 and S06 guns are used only in AMC version, if you want to put them into "troop trasport" hull version, they will not be correctly showned (they'll appear into ship's different hull).

Hope this help your project =)
Best regards,
Vd

hi vd
i changed all starting dates to 19380101. I didn't replace vdpipe & vdpipe2 because i saw them in QOB2 dat. Also i replaced VdCommanda with VdWarCommanda. She's ok at 1939-1942 but not after as you can see.
Waiting for instructions

cheers

Wartime funnels are supposed to be gray :P

I see this method is a little confusing, sorry for that.
I'd like to suggest you a really different approach: try to re-use original .eqp file (re-download it if you've not made a backup copy), open it with notepad and REPLACE every 19391231 date with 19381231
and every 19400101 with 19390101,
BUT DON'T TOUCH THOSE EQUIPMENTS(p06 node):

[Equipment 22]
NodeName=P06
LinkName=VdOblos <-- civil lightned version \ neutral
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19390902

[Equipment 39]
NodeName=P06
LinkName=VdWarOblos <-- military version you need
StartDate=19400101
EndDate=19451231

[Equipment 87]
NodeName=P06
LinkName=VdObDark <-- civil darkened version
StartDate=19390903
EndDate=19391231

After this, Replace "VdOblos" and "VdObDark" with "VdWarOblos in Equipment 22 and 87.
This should work, with this method you just anticipate ship's conversion to AMC.

Send reports,
Vd
