it is not big deal to import the green water values and see how it looks with the new water reflection maps.if it is ok , i will include a green water version.If it needs further tweaks on water reflections i am not going to run after it.

In my humble opinion, the best of your work - M.E.P. v3.0. This is the most saturated colors of the water surface (deep blue), and it doesn't has such an unnatural glow, which observed in later versions - version 5.0 and version 6.0... Besides, in my opinion, version 3.0 has the most beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset, which is unable to beat any one of the existing modes. In this version there is some kind of special, "warm" atmosphere...

Yes, I agree, we can't stand still, we need to move forward. And I couldn't help but notice how many people admire the latest versions. But personally, I still remain a fan of the most successful, in my opinion, version 3.0 :Kaleun_Salute:

yes i can but i don't want to. there are two different nights in the enviro.the nights at cloudy-no cloudy weather and the nights at bad weather.At cloudy-no cloudy nights you have some 'light' becuase in my mind is first priority that it is a game and must be somehow playable even if it isn't so realistic this 'light'.at the second nights , the bad weather nights , you can't see your own nose

yes, MEP v3 is an enviro that i liked very much but i am getting bored very quicly and start changing things. My best would have been an enviro which randomly changing collecting data from files so you would never know which ,for example, sunset-sunrise is coming but that is not possible afaik.(even if it is-was possible , i don't want to even think about how much work it would take)
Speaking for tastes , as all enviro are about, this MEP v6 is by far my favourite :yep:

I would like to create a 30 km atmosphere environment. But when I resize the 3D model of the sky, clouds and fog, the sky is black in game. Do you know why ? :doh:

M.E.P. V5 with green water is my standard enviroment for SH3. So im Really looking forward to this new version!

If i may issue a suggestion, I would like to see increased underwater transparency. Just enough so you can see the ships sinking in the action cam. With MEP5 most of the time you cant see them, strangely you can see them with MEP5 Green water version. Does the green water version have increased transparency?

thats strange indead becuase underwater settings are the same in both versions.
Anyway, if you want to increase the underwater view go to scene-->EnvData-->Underwater-->Fog and ,in there, increase the ZMax value

i will try adjusting the ZMax to make the underwater a bit more transparent.

you are right at your steps for those who are using Stiebler's patch on NYGM

1. pick up AI_Sensor_Nygm.dat and change its name to AI_Sensor.dat
2. open the ''M.E.P v6 - VisualSensors for NYGM 3.6F'' and ,in there, replace the AI_Sensor.dat with the AI_Sensor.dat from the above step
3. Enable 'MEP v6' and ''M.E.P v6 - VisualSensors for NYGM 3.6F''

Thanks for the new water makman94 :) I really enjoyed MEP5 and I'm sure this going to rock!

However I have a problem this mod because I have a conflict with Ahnenerbe WideGui. It seems MEP6 and AWG both modify the UMark.tga. I'm not sure what should I do, I opened the file but it's unreadable. Could you help me please?


btw, I think MaGUI is only for 1360, that's why I'm using Ahnenerbe 1920, am I right?

hello JuanLiquid and wellcome to Subsim,

the umark.tga is not a critical image so you can safely delete it if you don't want it.
the umark.tga in MEP is making this image totally transparent so you can't see uboat's mark on sea surface when your boat is submerged. if you want to see this mark in game , then delete the umark.tga from MEP files and then enable the mod

@Neal: Can we get rid of these green strips at the edges of screen ? they are limiting the display of the forum and also are tiring my eyes. the way it was before was much better

Excellent work! Eagerly tried it on my stock install and was very pleased....Pretty water and plausible environment colors, without the problem of jagged looking waves...Jagged waves with AA on my machine drive me insane but these waves are beautifully smooth.

And i see you increased the underwater transparency a bit! yay! :)

MaGUI and MEP are my Standard must have SH3 mods, regardless of what supermod i use.

P.S. i would love to see an update to MaGUI! maybe a Graduated reticle on my UZO instead of the red one? You know, a reticle just like the one on the periscopes, so i can take measures of the ships. I have problems reading the small numbers on the red one, and i have to flip out the calculator to use it. Or maybe a stadimeter would be great as well.

about the UZO: UZO didn't had any reticles for taking measures.At the next version (MaGui F) i removed even this red scaleI forgot to mention, i use the Widescreen MaGUI (SA) and that one does have the red reticle. But its no problem reallly. I just wish the uzo had some means of measuring distance (reticle or stadimeter).
