Hello guys, as some of you might have noticed, i made a topic about me wanting to start modding and create my own submarine. :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

i've had some very helpful lads come by and guide me through the basics of modding.

As seen in the title i am planning to release the USS Requin i made in the future, but some more things need to happen before i do so.

Hi JesterV2

I was fortunate enough when I was in Pittsburgh, PA last year to take a tour of the USS Requin. I took many pictures and if you would like I can post some of them for you. Below is a link to the website for the Requin.

Here are just a couple of pictures I took. :D

ok guys, only a couple of things need to happen, including something i struggle with right now.

until this point, all i have been doing is replacing the 3d model of the balao, ultimately i want this ship to be a standalone ship. i have gotten far enough to make it show up seperately in the submarine class list, but when i press start i get a crash to desktop.

i would like to know which files i have to edit to get this submarine to work and what lines i have to add or remove to make this happen.

Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help me!

Both skins are bulletproof, Jester! They are top quality. Help on the sub physics could come from CapnScurvy, Jeff-Groves, iambecomelife......there are others that I can't recall right now.

The US Type XXI :Kaleun_Salivating:

A great addition for fictional late war campaigns or even early cold wars ones. Possibilities are infinite :Kaleun_Cheers:

I still want the Guppy III. THAT was better than Type XXI by quite a ways AND had the reliability of the Fleet Boat series. The Requin was a Fleet Snorkel boat, with non-upgraded batteries. It was about equal to a Type XXI but MUCH more reliable and better engineered.

Come on RR, the fleet boats sufficed to trunce the Japanese Navy, what are you going to do with a Guppy III :) You'll need the cold war soviet fleet to have a decent oponent in Korea and such (Hint, hint...) :yeah:

Oooohhhh, a "Cat and Mouse" game off the Korean peninsula and across the Pacific, October 1950... As the ChiComms prepare to cross the border and chase MacArthur home... What are the Russians doing with their subs spreading across the Pacific? Will it escalate?... "The Hunt for Red October", only a little early...

Exactly :Kaleun_Cheers:
Slent Hunter 4 is well suited for very early cold war ops ... accoustic torpedoes exist, as well as snorkel, radar, etc. photo recon and spy/commando launch missions :Kaleun_Applaud:

I qualified ss481 Requin 1964 we pulled a 20” vacuum WHILE snorkeling. Blue out every light bulb and put our rear up around our necks she also had a North Atlantic sail ( called plastic was fiberglass) no stern tubes sr also she was NOT 312 feet long g she was 311’9 3/4” the 3/4” was weld on the turtleback and it’s still there!!!
