Hello, I noticed what, where is no planes in 1939-1940. Draggable map shows what, where is air patrol around Britain and I haven't seen the single plane?
So How to increase frequency of aircraft?

I just want extra challenge

Sorry for horrible English

I mean already what planes are in the game to appear more frequently

I've also had the same questions about the frequency of air patrols in GWX.

On my second patrol in a Type II "Canoe" along the East coast of Scotland, just off the Firth of Forth in grid squares AN01/47/51/52, I encountered air patrols every day for a couple of weeks, from 29 Sep through 12 Oct '39.

After getting a new Type VIIB and making several more patrols to the Western Approaches and Rockall Bank, up through the middle of 1940, I didn't see a single airplane.

I've found air patrols set up to appear from the Campaign folder as Scripted units and Random units. The files controlling aircraft strikes are in the "data\Cfg\Airstrike" folder. I haven't yet dared to try making changes to add more Scripted or Random air patrols. But, I have done some "tinkering" with the "Airstrike" file, comparing values there in the Stock game, in GWX and in LSH3. Some changes didn't seem to produce results, while other changes produced swarms of aircraft. I'm still trying to find a happy medium in all of that.

Lacking any good advice coming here from some of the experts, you might want to try experimenting with the settings in the "Airstrike" file to see if that gives you the "challenge" you're looking for.

Good luck...:salute:

So which options effect the most? Like Elite airbase rating do they effect a lot?

Which lines effect the most?

Well, I didn't keep any detailed records of which changes produced which results. Plus, I made more than one or two changes each time I did an "experiment" with changes to the "Airstrike" file.

But, to reiterate, I don't really know if the "Airstrike" file generates routine ASW air patrols or not. The "Scripted" (SCR) and "Random" (RND) ".mis" files in the Campaign folder would seem to be the source for those.

Nonetheless, I read the "AirStrike Creation Parameters" carefully and then experimented with different changes and combinations of changes. I finally made several different versions of the file and placed them in the "Date" folders in SH3 Commander, to simulate improvement in allied airborne ASW as the war progressed.

Steps 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 seem to indicate that the game will generate an air strike specifically directed toward the player's U-Boat, based on the first group of eight modifiers. The second group of three modifiers as well as the last one seem to be easy to understand.

The very first value is reduced in GWX as compared to Stock and LSH3...2000 in GWX and 2500 in the others. That alone would seem to limit the number of air bases in range of the player sub at any given time.

Comparing the values in LSH3 and LSH 3 "Extended Challenge" shows that most of the airbase modifiers are increased in the "Extended Challenge", which seems to indicate that increasing them increases the number of aircraft sent to find and attack your boat. The same can clearly be said for changes to the probability factors at the bottom of the file page.

Anyway, that's about as much as I can offer. I'm still experimenting and can't really say if I've found any completely satisfactory solution.

P.S. Although this concerns air patrols/strikes in GWX, I started looking into the subject because of the overwhelming number of aircraft I was encountering in LSH3; swarms of them! The changes I've made there have helped, so I'm doing the same kind of experimentation in GWX to fix the lack of air patrols that seems to be happening there.

If You allow me I'd like to propose You such variant of increased air traffic. I use it in my pack basis GWX.

I founded this mod
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=206493

It adds a ton of ships and planes. And Makes air traffic reasonable like in 1944. Can be on surface at day. Just like in real life.

Everything is great except 20 min loading times. I wish it had seperate campaing files like for atlantic only or something because now it has Mediterian Indian ocean Black sea and others.
Does anyone know a good way to reduce loading times? without removing mods
