Steam Version Mods for SH5?

I'm brand new to Subsim.com but a sub simulator fan since Aces of the Deep. I've Got Silent Hunter 1, 2, 3, 4 and Now 5. The problem I'm having is that I have the Steam Version of Silent Hunter 5 which, is in serious need of some mods. Although there appear to be an endless supply of mods for the game on Subsim.com, most of them warn that they're "Not for the steam version of the game". If there are mods for the steam version, could someone please point a brotha in the right direction? I've searched these forums for hours and come up empty - or racked my brain after attempting to install the wrong mods for the Steam Version because it was never really made clear what the mods actually worked for. Also, (If it hasn't been done already) it would be really nice to see a section of "Steam Only" mods for sub simulators. (If a section like that is already available and right in my face, and I never found it, then I apologize in advance. As I said. I'm new. All these threads are a bit overwhelming)

Mods are not a problem when using STEAM.
It is the essential application you need of TDW's Generic File Patcher that is in compatible with STEAM.
