Seen many posts on problems with Win 10 but none seem to match my situation. GWX v3 Gold was great on XP. I got a Win 10 machine and installed SH3 and GWX right away and they worked great. After months of successful play, I started to get CTDs. I now get them every time a I resume a career. Sometimes they happen when a torpedo explodes but the most recent was just sailing out of port.
1) Should I try single missions to investigate?
2) Should I go back a few missions and pick it up from there?
3) Should I reinstall?

Hi Damascus
Try running OS10 in OS7 compatibility mode.
Run all your applications as administrators > examples.
SH3.exe
GWX

You say you have been running OS10 for a few months without any problems until now!
Can you remember making any changes during this time maybe to your mods?
There is no harm re-installation.
Make sure you use a registry cleaner and then reboot.
If after re-installing your previously saved games continue to ctd you would need to start a new career and see if the ctd problem occurs again.
It is also worth checking that your gpu drivers are up to date.

I've added things to the computer, that's for sure, but who knows what. I tried two single missions with no problems and went back to a saved career scenario back a few months with no problems, either. So far (except getting sunk). Might be something got corrupted down the line; hoping that would be it.

Hi Damascus
Could be a mod compatibility problem?

Install XP 32 bit again on a new separate HDD and install SH3, 4, 5 in it. Just use it for gaming. Set it up to be an added HDD on the same computer, or the only HDD on a second computer.
I did that while my mane computer (this one was down). I just swap out HDDs when I want to run Silent Hunter. I'm working on installing stuff and hope I'll be running soon. Should run the same as it did before MS shut down support for XP with out all the hassles we're having now with 8, 8.1, and 10.
