The Wolves of Steel and STEAM?

Just downloaded the Wolves of Steel mod after picking up SH5 on Steam. Am reading through it and it says that the Wolves of Steel mod doesn't work with the steam version? Is this true?

If running the steam version, what (if any) are the best mods that will work?

there is some misunderstanding the mod work with the steam version of the game !!!!!! the generic patcher is the problem which one is not a mod.....there is also a solution to making tdw's generic patcher to work with the steam version of the game read here (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=214687)

My tutorial is up dated on the original as there some things that no longer worked in it.

Ok, I've gotten this far. Using the instructions everything has gone fine up until when I actually patch the SH5.exe file. I get an error msg right at the point of patching. So 8 out of the 9 files go through fine, but one does not. it gives an exception msg and says the SH5 is being used by another process. But I've shut steam down so I don't know what else would be using it. Any ideas?

Never mind! I got it sorted out.
