View Full Version : Speed tables in Ahnenerbe mod?

I've solved my original problem, but I have a very similar one - can anybody help me please?

Does anybody have any idea what 'Karte 1' in the Ahnenerbe WideGui mod shows?

It can be accessed by pulling down the 'Karte 1' tab on the navigation map screen.

I suspect that the solid, coloured lines (the circles) represent Allied patrol ranges at various times. I also suspect that the solid shaded areas are areas heavily patrolled by the Allies. I'm not certain about either of these though.

I see that there are convoy routes shown, but there is a lot of Russian I don't understand - eg, what's the difference between the solid and the dotted convoy lines? And what do the tables at the bottom left show? I guess the first table (with the abbreviated codes and dates) shows times that particular convoys were active.

Cheers!

Original post:

Using the Ahnenerbe WideGui 1920 x 1080 mod, if you go to the attack periscope, there are three tables you can drag down from the top (just next to the 'flags' list.

They are called 'Torpedo Speed 30/40/40knts'.

Across the top is a list of angles, with 90 degrees in the middle.

Down the side is a list of numbers from 1-20.

Where these meet are more numbers, increasing as they approach 90degrees on the horizontal axis (then decreasing again over 90), and increasing as the number approaches 20 on the vertical axis.

I can't attach a picture, sorry.

What do these tables mean?

Cheers!

They are Torpedo Bearing Tables for 90degrees shots. Handy for manual targeting. Range does not matter, only target speed (1-20).

Maybe this will help: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=169935

Thanks!

Do you have any idea what the drag-down maps available on the navigation map screen show? It seems to be something about convoy routes.

Allthough I don't use this GUI, Pretty sure it is the standard map that came with the game with convoy lines and aircraft control areas.

You're right! Thanks!

I was able to find it easily on Google once I took out all the references to 'Ahnenerbe'!
