Hello Captains. Here is a small mod, hoping you will like it! :salute:

This mod makes Traveller's "Rescue Sub" mod to work with the OTC mod by CapnScurvy. And I've already tested the mod successfully in my current game.

# How exciting I am to see a friendly sub waiting there to save me! #

Enable this mod after TMO RSRDC and OTC, then follow the instructions in the "original readme.txt" from the documentation folder.

Nice idea - I will test the same time today.

I want a Santa Claus mod! And the Easter Bunny too. :D

There were no "rescue subs."

There were no "rescue subs."

Yes that's right.
However, you can not simulate in SH4, the help of allies such as recording of fuel or to be hauling with a badly damaged boat just before the base in the port.

I think - essentially lead this mod could at least provide an alternative.

Fuel management is not a problem in SH4. If you run your boat right you can't use up all the fuel. Damaged subs made it back to base or scuttled as best they could. Most repairs could not be handled at sea in any event. Towing a submarine even one mile wasn't possible and was never done.

There WAS NO help from the allies. Each sub lived or died based on its own resources. Usually help from the allies meant that a random warship might encounter a stranded submarine, take the crew off and shell the grounded sub. But that only happened once. Mostly, you were hurt, you died.

So there's nothing to simulate but products of the imagination. And those things could not have happened. There was no alternative in reality other than die with the boat or take your chances on being captured by the Japanese. Choose one.:D

I think this all stems from the hokey instant end mission and return to base cheat built into SH3. It's a crock.

Rockin Robbins was right ...
I have now looked at this mod exact times and must admit that this is the realism not conducive.

Pity it's not an option available in SH4 "leave boat" like (there was in SH2).
