mission start dates

does anyone know how to change the date war starts with mission editor? trying to build mission where a us sub finds the pearl harbor attack force. so far if I try the 7th or even the 8th it classes the jap fleet as neutual.
am also thinking of making another of what if the fleet was at war footing when pearl was attacked. but need to change war start date in ME.:hmm2:

My Pre Pearl Harbor mod has something of what you want. There is a mission that puts your sub in the area of the Jap task force. I've encountered planes from it, but not the ships yet. You can download my mod and edit the Pre-war PH Patrol 08 in the mission editor to move the sub closer to them.

As for your other idea, you need to edit the DefSide.cfg in the Data/Roster folder. Please note the airstrike is not in the game or my mod. You'll have to add it in yourself if you want it.

I thank you so much, that is the one file I did not check. what I have seen so far, that does the trick.
I did download your mod and will check it out later tonight, then hopefully I can get a mission going that will work for what I have planned. then I will work on the what if mod/mission for Pearl.
there was so many possibles that could have caused things to have turned out different or at least caused higher losses for the jap air attack.
