Confused about Fall of the Rising Sun patch

Dear all,

like a lot of players I enjoy the TMOo/RSRDC-Combination very much, but I would like to try Fall of the Rising Sun for a change. Playing SH4 WotP 1.5 (WITH U-boat missions), I've found the thread with the link to the download (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147988&page=66) but it seems I need an additional 4GB patch.

Unfortunately I don't have the nerves to read 65 pages of posts and replies. Does someone remember where I can get the patch (or a later version of FotRS if that exists)?

I just uploaded the version of Fall of the Rising Sun that works with SH4 v1.5. Most versions floating around only work with 1.4. There is an even newer version than the one I have but because the AOTD modders have a strange idea that SH4 1.4 is much better than 1.5 and more reliable (how in the universe could they have that false idea?), Version 2.0, which is nowhere on Subsim (yet) only works with 1.4.

FOTRS 2.0, however has such improvements over the version that works for SH4 v1.5 that I'm going to try it and post it if it justifies the big step backwards in game versions.

I tried FOTRS v2 for SH4 14. Maddy says SH4 14 is more stable for multiplayer and they did the mod for that. It is in german and there is a patch for partial spanish traslation. No English version.

The mod has a lot of beautiful ships but not many changes in subs. The environment looks awful in my PC - FOTRS 13 has a better enviroment. Try it but I think you will not like it very much. I use it only for take new ships and put they in my GFO installation.

And that is an ingenious idea! I would love a short course on how to do that.

Ah, thanks for the info. I'll try out Fitz' approach, I guess. Eventually (now I still have a campaign going).
