Introduction


it was a long time before I returned here just to find that the core people that I knew once are still here rolling and pushing this community ahead, I remember the days I started working on Mods and the help that I've got here to improve and develop better stuff, those days are gone but not forgotten.

What makes one return, or one day start cleaning his PC desk and finding things like GWX CD, or Mods that one downloaded or a CD full of his own works just to feel how great those days felt, the fun of creating stuff, the joy of playing the game, just to see a simple game with good based gameplay turn into a fever and from there to a totally better game in every detail...

For those little things I've returned, facts are facts, and since I installed again SH III in my PC, the same "fever" returned as whel and here am I again along side with people and friends that I know for a long time and that I missed a lot !



Times changed

Yeah, they changed a lot !

The fact is that lots of things changed since those days, so the Mods and people , we grow up, we get different likes and most of us changed life and life style, family , kids, all that have changed , but the love for this site and game didn't, why I can not say, I gladly see that new people are coming in, new blood and new moding chances, new styles new everything for this game...

...You guys the younger ones don't know the impact that for example flakmonkey new interior (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=201502) had when it came out, and now we have those plus torpedo and rest compartments...

All this is important , to show you guys what its done, and most important what can be achieved by a group of people when they decide to do or change something...

After a couple of days playing , the same fever that got me into modding in he first place made me decide to do it again, so I will start with a rather simple Mod a Wide Screen 1920 x 1080 resolution in game menus and screens Mod...I have been assembly notes and resources, data and information to do it for 4 or 5 days already, and still need to get some more stuff and return to what I knew at the time of my last U-Boat III Alpha Version, but I am almost there...some stuff that I thought it was lost wasn't after all just hidden from my eyes and after finding those things everything turned a lot more easier..



So hold on there guys...Cause the rust is being removed and this U-boat is getting ready for again sail to the Atlantic Ocean !:arrgh!:

Thanks for the words guys ....today I'll be studying my last notes on U-boat IIII Alpha, thanks to those notes I'll remind myself where to change the Menu.ini for example and other things like positioning the menus or windows on the resolution I choose, hard work starts now with all this then the fun part making the graphics !

Only 1920x1080 resolution? 1680x1050 would be very appreciated. :up:

Jaxa matey, I'll do first in this resolution and then depending on the works and how it plays in the game I'll make new resolutions including yours...Also found some stuff really cool like this :

have great ideas for the new screens , mostly the campaign screen the first you choose the Flotilla , but I love the last one...don't know yet exactly what to do but have the stuff in mind and programed already:up: !

Hi there

Has I told you guys have been working in the Intro screen for 2 days and today decided as promised to show you the Dev work on this screen !

getting the screen to look better and not to heavy colored made me spend some hours around the color slides over the PS....Thought the most part was the image itself, but I think its getting there !

Notes

Ok, this one is almost finished, I am glad with the result of my work in this Main menu screen, added some new stuff to make it more realistic and Officer desk screen, added some shadows and tuned the color a bit down.

Still have to work on the menu text for changing its color to black and on mouse pass to red and repositioning the all menu text to fit the open book page on its background but those Menu.ini changes I'll just do in the end when have almost all stuf and screens done...

Everything goes on schedule!


PS Glad you guys like this... Thought I would like a lot more opinions on this work, it helps me improve !:salute::up:

Third day improving this Main Menu screen and just finish changing the book graphic to get it more realistic and a bit darker, also added the Reich eagle embedded marker on the book page...

Dev Notes

This screen is the navigation map in game screen, started yesterday morning on this dev and so far so good, removed the old wood background for a new lighter looking one and added some maps and stuff to go according with what would be a navigation table on a U-Boot , Added a darker color wooden ruler at the bottom to make easier to read the messages console ...

No, the first had a little "l" lehrdivision is false. Right: Lehrdivison (big L)

Second: Schiffsartilerie...only with one l = false! Right: Schiffsartillerieschule..(with double l in the middle)!

And the last two ones are okay!

Could you change the colour of the main map to a more rusty look? I use Pascal Map mod with Anhenerbe GUI and works fine. It has a rusty brownish look.

All looks great and very nice!

Tomorrow I will send you the promised HD images.

Dev Notes

I decided to change the all graphic cause it had errors when loaded in game that I do not want and dislike.

If you guys watch carefully in the level of the Pen and scrapbook there in a loading problem that makes the 2 Academy TGA files to load out of place, I am correcting that and also the all graphic cause I decided it was to much populated with stuff and wanted to resize some objects I added in this graphic to fit better the all screen !

But another suggestion or wish from me: IIRC that I had readed that you plan to change the original Ahnenerbe Wide GUI Menu_1024_768.ini in a few entries for your MOD.

But that´s a pity, because I (and I think many other players too) use an own modded Menu_ini File! :timeout:

For example I play rowi58 Big MOD CCoM with Ahnenerbe Wide GUI customized for the CCoM Big MOD.

It means, after release I can´t simply activate your MOD, because it overwrites me the Menu_ini File.

My wish is, that you insert a Readme for all changes in regarding the menu_ini File, that we can change it in our own menu_ini.

I hope you understand and know what I mean my friend? :oops:

At the Bottom of the certificate there is a stamp with the "Reichsadler" (imperial eagle), but without a swastica in the circle?! An empty circle looks a little bit funny....:haha:

My question is, can you please insert in all stamps a swastica in the round circle, that we have a highest possible historical accuracy! :yeah:

Ok My friends this is it !

Fixed various stuff to fit the all screen properly Some objects had wrong dimension or size and made the all previous Academy screen look a bit weird for me so, I have taken of some of those objects due to over populated screen and decided to add some new ones and restrain the number of those objects in the screen...

The new objects on the screen make the all thing now look a lot more realistic I think, Added the Map and reduced the size of the scrapbook and changed the color of the text on it to look like Pen ink text , ( Very cool text thought it was translated with on line Google transl. ) Added a different pencil and the watch that took me 4 hours to do based on a online original German WWII relic watch, on the open archive file added the Nazi stamp and Kriegsmarine title , corrected the exam Nazi stamp that was missing the Swastika on it ( Thanks for that Magic1111 ) and that is all ...

Dev Notes

This is the loading screen that you see when loading either saved game or any mission or Academy exams,,, Been working on this objects included on the screen for the past 2 days to include them in this new screen !

Not finished yet but here it stays the screen as it is now in game !


Also been working on some new Objects for other screens !

Yes, but in none of these files mate!

The problem is, that the fixed resolution of 1920x1080 in the Ahnenerbe-Mod (all other Wide GUIs have 1360x768) the loading bar in the center slide, as you see in the screenshot.

For this you must edit the sh3.exe, because the position of the loading bar is permanently programmed into the sh3.exe!

Hi everyone,

Been making some testing and trials with some new Loading bars for my Mod...

My objective is to reduce the loading bar to minimum so that we can see the loading progress without being so big loading bar as it is now....maybe I can make a new loading bar just with a new graphic , so far I manage to change it for different ones but I want a line not a full bar as we have now !

an idea is to make a totally transparent point.tga and eliminate,that way, totally the ingame loading bar.
i don't believe that anyone is looking at the loading bar since ,as you know, is not accurate at all.
imo, it is a useless bar and nobody will miss it

I need for my game the loading screen in 1024x1024!

It is the Map.tga, right?

In 1024x1024 the loading screen (Map.tga) works together with Ahnenerbe GUI perfect, because through my sh3.exe fix I have the loading bar with point.tga on the right (stock) place!

Dev Notes

The previous loading screen had some images distortions so I made this one supposedly for single missions loading screen but don't know why the loading screen was always the Map one that is the normal loading screen so I've decided to make this for both actions , normal game loadings and single missions...gave me a lot of work to finish it cause as you guys can see there are a lot of new object elements in this screen...

Please be patient and do not add this to your game and post images in here or any other site before the Mod its officially released and finished...cause of that some people already mailed me to ask for the mod or where to download the alpha version of it, If this goes on I'll start posting images with embedded WIP watermark on them...and i do not want that to happen !

i don't use photoshop , i am using the paint.net

in paint.net , all you have to do is selecting the whole image,then you delete it and save as ''tga'' with the same name.

i believe that a similar way must be in photoshop to do it. try googling it

There is no update yet...I've been fighting with my free time and making some objects and stuff for the next screens...

Do not worrie I'm on it guys...just sucked on real life work and every chance I have create this objects on PS and some other Suits ....

If you install before GT182 most probably other mods that change the menu.ini will patch mine and the mod will not work as intended...

I've finally gotten SH3 reinstalled on 8.1. I'm using a BenQ 23" monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080. It works fine with SH3 from what I can see so far.

Can someone explain to me what JC's 1920x1080 Resolution Mod does or will do. I apologize but yeah, I'm a bit thick in the noggin on stuff like this. I don't understand it's purpose. Especially when 1920x1080 resolution is working for me with SH3. :oops:

This mod is a series of screenies for replace the original Anhenerbe 1920x1080 GUI. You need first this GUI. When the mod will be finished you can change the screenies of the stations with this mod.

After looking around Fitz, I get the drift on what it does. I found the thread on the Anhenerbe 1920x1080 GUI and read about it and what it does. Much more than just running with the native 1920x1080 resolution of a graphics card. I now understand what the improvements of JC's resolution mod will make. Thanks.

So sorry ..Guys I will try to pick this one day...but My life changed , Moved from one place to another , Lost my old Job due to company Closing...and everything its more difficult now....I have no time for nothing now...Between Family, work, and free time that I use to rest and its not enough I have no time for nothing guys...I am having a breath of fresh Air this days, but I am just Tired guys...And this kind of Hobby takes time and being with your head clear...




I am so sorry guys, do not like to just leave something without finishing it...


Maybe one day I get some more of my normal life back..
