That's some serious skilz on the part of both pilot and paddles.
The sea was calm in our case, but back in '70 a visitor to our ship made what I thought was an impressive landing.

They don't always make it. I have seen video of the now retired CH-46 which was used for under way resupply by the Navy and as an air assault craft by the USMC. Something went wrong and the bird suddenly flops over into the sea and sinks rapidly hard to tell if any crew got out.

Something tells me that even this takes great skill the pilot has what 3 or 4 feet of error on the rear rotors and the hillside. Take into account as well the change in weight at the troops dismount plus the thinner air in the Afghan hills.
