The rest of the mod is fine. Is this step important?

Step 6:
Properly activate TDW generic patcher and restore "Snapshot 1_0_168_0 7_5_0_". The patcher and the snapshot are already placed in the main game folder (SH5/TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_168_0 folder). (Steam version is not supported)

The most basic error I find is you need to highlight the Silent Hunter 5 folder.

Do not open it.

Press the ok.

This is done for all 9 patchers.

Have a look at my tutorial Post #2 and you will get an idea of what to do.

I mean, 62 steps for simple application is a slight overstatement I think...

Show me the content of your "GenericPatcher.cfg" file...

Hi vecko

When you have the experience things look so easy.

A simple application to us is not so simple for others and some need all the help they can get.

You would not believe the amount of really basic tuition not just gaming I have had to give over the phone, emails etc over the past year or so.

These gamers are so grateful to have the game up and running that they will now enjoy an experience that would never have been achieved in a month of Sundays and they would have given up or carried on playing the stock game.

I am prepared to give these gamers as much of my time as required no matter how long it takes, whether through my tutorials or one to one.

A youtube video of someone actually installing the mod enabler/exe patcher and setting up the game and playing until you exit the bunker would solve most of the queries .

File error message clearly indicates that your SH installation path IS NOT S:\games\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5

Do you know your Silent Hunter 5 main folder location at all???:06:

And mate, your SH install path is S:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5
not S:\games\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5:nope:

"Games" is just a name of your S drive...

You have an install error somewhere.

Check my picture and make sure you can see the cfg file in your installation.

My guess is this where your error is.

You need to highlight the Silent Hunter 5 main folder and point each of the 9 patchers to install here.

so im coming back to SH5 after some time away and looking to install your mod.

but from the looks of it i cannot use your mod because i have the Steam version?

is there anyway to use then generic patcher with Steam? or am i basically screwed...?
