It's reconstraction of the old work for GWX...
It was one of the five variants... end of 2009.
I was in no hurry to publish it... i continued to find more nice options... but in January 2010, my home computer died (motherboard) and later I learned that the HDD is also dead. All my works have disappeared.
I almost did not cooperate with the forum... lost interest... since there are absolutely no reviews of competent users... but the illiterate chatter of some persons is more than enough.

I have found in my archive two your mods:
FM30_UpDown_final and FM30_UpDownSMC.
What are the differences between them and Radar Antenna Up/Down GWX 3.0?
IIRC, it's my first mods june/august 2009 for radar antenna animation with using StateMachineControl system.
Current mod, I think, just better...

For those who use H.sie's Radar.Fix (Radar initially off) I can prepare one file for replacing... antenna raising during the initialization of the game will be removed.

I finally have tested H.Sie's mod Radar.Fix, who i himself ordered to H.Sie do a few years ago - "now the default state is OFF"... Unfortunately i cannot used this mod. Unlike the original, after installing this mod, radar automatically turns off only when submarine is dives on depth about 13 meters (Type 7C). Therefore, if a player has forgotten to turn off the radar, it will work under water and, accordingly, the radar antenna will rotate until the submarine plunges to periscope depth (the parameter that the author used in the absolutely incorrect fix1 of RadarFix mod).
My advice - do not use H.Sie Radar.Fix.

First point. If the wave floods the radar antenna, radar does not should work.
Second point. This function should be for the convenience of working with the raising/lowering radar antenna... but without first.
Everything works fine without RadarFix. The only condition when loading the game is the radar antenna must be in the raised position. This condition is implemented in my mod.
If someone loves working with the flooded radar antenna, change the parameter shown on the picture in spoiler.

My advice - do not use H.Sie Radar.Fix.

I use your FM30...up/down-mod together with h.sieīs radar fix for a long time. My observations are that h.sieīs mod works as described. Itīs only the antenna mattress which still turns around, even under water. The radar device itself is switched off. When I was aware of that ingame, I retracted the antenna by using the appropriate keyboard command, so we can control that ingame.
Your recommondation about minsensorheight (I use minsensorheight=2m) doesnīt influence the turning/retracting of the antenna, only the working area of the radar device, like h.sieīs mod does.
Imho h.sieīs mod and your mod are a good combination.

My mod raises\lowers the radar antenna... and only. The rotation occurs in the standard way - through controller SensorData in Sensors.dat.
H.sie's mod broke the logic of the radar work (not antennas :)).
In this case, the radar's display is lit at height below MinSensorHeight = 1 up to full submerging of the antenna and below (this value is not stable) and... the radar's controller (SensorData) continues rotate the antenna up to a depth of approximately 13 m.
All work fine... without h.sie's mod.
... Your recommondation about minsensorheight ... It's not my recommendation.

I want to know whether a similar animation will be in demand or not.
The example uses 1 layer, 800 triangles. In any case, there must be two layers (as in the original game) for the swastika to appear correctly on both sides of the flag.

Looks great. It looks like Testpilot's flag (comig with CCoM supermod).
My critics:
1. Your model is maybe a bit too much detailed (unnecessary triangles).
2. It looks like it was made of very thin and delicate textile.
3. The flag is waving as if there was a huge and constant wind. Would it be possible to create an animated flag which is waving in a less strong and not constant wind?
4. Could you provide the flag in 4 different sizes (maybe with a slightly different animation)?

I have many different flag animations on my computer. All these tests were done in 2010. Now I checked them out in 3ds Max 2020 and wanted to get your opinion. I am sure these animations are different from others, as it is impossible to create the equal animations.

The size of the flag in 3dsMax is 100x60 cm. In the animation shown, the Virtual Scale is 4:1. Below I show the animation of this flag with the same settings, but the Virtual Scale is 1:1:

Everybody can do everything. But...
I planned to make 3 animations of different intensities, depending on the status of the submarine and it speed (commands). You can use this animation at high speed! But I cannot guarantee that I will do the job.
4) I animate only the flags of German submarines ... with an aspect ratio of 5:3 (German Navy Standard).
Are you sure, that GWX_DFa-Flag & Pens_2010 is the wrong mod?
In this case, you don't need to use it. :haha:

This mod has been used many times and was adapted to other mods too... this mod uses flags from my other mod: SH4StyleFlags ... and, (if it was applied correctly), no problems were observed.

I didn't understand why you gave me these links. Probably wanted me to read something new for myself... Alas, I haven't found anything new... I myself once wrote a similar work plan, only very briefly... I'm not interested in American flags... and I did not saw nothing attractive... (in other words: i've seen it already).
