Here are a few links for those people that enjoy getting into the "nuts and bolts" of how something works or for those modders in the process of turning SH5 into a fully functional Type VII simulator. :D

Some interesting snippets....replacing the diesel fuel in the tanks as it's being used with seawater to maintain the original buoyancy...(floating your fuel on top of seawater just seems...well....contrary to good maintenance practises but hey.....it worked)....having to oscillate the boat after every depth change so that trapped air in the buoyancy tanks didn't shift at the wrong moment with dire consequences....having to sound the various tanks, test the weight of the water and all the procedures that had to be followed to the letter no matter how urgent or dire the situation at hand or risk losing life and limb!

Gives you an idea why so many crew were needed to accomplish all the various tasks and turn the boat into a weapon..

I hope you enjoy this info as much as I did........
