Hello!
These are the first shots of the new Soviet Sierra-Class SSN for SH4 1.5.
I will make a campaign-playable mod for both us and german sides. this is the first time i tested the model in the game so there are still many things missing, but i have finished modelling, texturing(besides some minimal corrections) and UV-Mapping:
ps. just noticed the hull ambient occlusion was mising, so the last picture is with hull ambient occlusion map enabled( and i need to get rid of those artifacts...)

current status: i have finished the ao-mapping and all the flaps etc are in the .dat so the 3d-modelling work is done. i have also almost finished the new extensibles, what is rather easy to do. big thing left is the writing of the .upcge and finally , the conversion into the US-side so it will be an US-German(soviet) standalone. besides i think this is the sexiest sub i did until now:D. also, i have found very good color-images from the sail bridge and the flaps of the akula, so i will do that (easier) sub refit aftwerwards

almost done for the German/Soviet side.the Extensibles are in( radio antenna needs high adjustment and the radar doesnt rotate yet; last 3 pics demonstrate the flaps mechanism on the sail( and hull), note all hatches on the sail will be closed in submerged mode, i cannot animate their opening sequence when you extend the masts under water...too bad...:

In real life, this submarine set for modernization for 945M. But a week ago, froze its modernization:wah:

ahh i see. is this k-239? what will be new with 945M? ps do you know if the hull numbers ("622") are only used when in port or are they also on the sail on combat patrol?

Yes it is K-239. She planned to upgrade, and give new designation 945M. Number only port.

Your the only reason i still play this JH. Amazing subs man. Your Delta IV is my favorite I think, but I would love to see the Borei sail :up:

This mod is great, but it changes the entire language of my SH4. It goes back to English when I disable the mod, however. Also, after surfacing, the crew does not show up on the conning tower. Are these already known? In any case, excellent mod! :rock::rock:

goto /Mods/sierra_ge/data/menu/ and delete the menu.txt(german language file). then rename the menu_US.txt to menu.txt for english language. the crew issue is being taken care of by me.

Language fixed! Thanks for the reply, and subscribing to post for crew fix. I haven't had a chance to take this into battle yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be a beast! :rock: :up:

Hello. I have two questions. One, even though I was able to change the menu back to English, the map is still in German. How can I fix this? Second, How do I raise the radar masts?

The only issues I've noticed so far are:
1) the screw is not turning properly
2) Game crashes after a longer time playing, when leaving the game

Been away from Subsim for far too long, back and frankly amazed by what has been done to SHIV, now to dig out my copy of SHIV and get downloading the mods :D

Thx. Best model i made so far BUT all the flaps occasionally tend to stuck during the animation. Guess i pushed the game engine a little to far...

Yes you can actually use that interior with all the other boats. you just need to change the concerning line in the sub`s config file
