View Full Version : Help please, what is your opinion on this question that I have?
My PC specs are as follows:
Intel (R) Core (TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @2.33GHz (4 CPUs) 2.33GHz
3,00 GB (RAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 210
Windows 7 Professional 32 bits
With this PC, Can I use GWX V3.0 and LSH3 with the latest mods to come out?
If I can do work well both "Big Mods", What is the better of the two?
Thanks in advance to all those whoanswer my question.

Hey there, your CPU is definetely great for SHIII with any mods.
Your graphics card is more than fine with stock SHIII, but will probably strugle with LHSIII V5.1 ( i do not know about GWX3.0 Gold though as i do not have it installed).
Your RAM is great for stock SHIII but you will also strugle with LSHIII V5.1, i have 4GB (windows professional 64bit) and during gameplay(after closing all the programms that i did not need), my RAM consumption jumps from about 30%, to about 75%, which is about 3GB of RAM. Of course 32bit systems consume much less RAM than 64bit, but again 3GB for LSHIII V5.1(not to mention the upcoming V6) is too poor. Again i don know about GWX3.0 Gold.
I hope i was helpful!

A 32-bit system and 3 Gigs of RAM are not a good thing. I had 4 GB on my old 32-bit computer and it wouldn't run LSH3 at all. GWX is tuned to run on older systems, but don't expect to run the Merchant Fleet Mod. It requires using the 4-Gig Patch, and that requires that you have more than 4 Gigs of RAM. 8 Gigs is preferable. FlakMonkey's New Interiors mod will run on your system, but it will be choppy and uncomfortable.
At least that was what I discovered with my old rig.

quad core is fine. your ram and video card will be your bottle neck. really the only way to find out is install them and run a single mission and see how it runs. it also depends on your chipset on your motherboard too. as i said before though. try it and see. :salute:

Thank you very much for your 3 quick responses .
I think you have helped me a lot and well.
I understand that I may not Play LSH3, you may have a chance
with GWX without the Merchant Fleet of Iambecomlife MOD.
I think I was on the right path, because I was preparing a list
of mods to start NYGM, although graphically is not like the others
two, at least I can enjoy this wonderful game.
You do That be part of this forum is amazing. Since I came to him,

The 4-gig patch only works for a 64 bit Operating System.
Win 7 32 is a nice Operating System but Win 7 64 shines compared to it.
x86 applications have 2GB of virtual memory out of 4GB (the other 2GB are reserved for the system). On x64 these two other GB can now be accessed by 32bit applications.
@ Jeff-Groves, thanks to you too, does it change anything if I put my PC in another GB of memory? Total would be 4 GB. How do you see?
If finally I have 4 GB of RAM, I can´t put the 4GB patch because my OS is 32 bits, right?

Even if you put 4GB of RAM in a 32bit OS, it will not be recognised. The maximum you can go I believe is close to 3.2GB of RAM or something similar, but even that small improvement might be good. You can just install 4GBs, and take advantage of that small improvement (it differs among PCs).
Also yes, the 4GB patch might only be installed (effectively) with 64bit windows, no matter how much RAM you have with a 32bit OS.

You will need to use the '3gig switch' in a 32 bit enviroment mate. Instructions can be found here:
