Hi, if I try to start any campaign based out of pearl harbor, I crash to desktop once it loads up. I can start campaigns from Brisbane and freemantle just fine.
The only mods active are: RFB 2.0 and RFB patch april 2010.
any ideas?

If you haven't already done so, give this a try
http://www.subsowespac.org/the-patrol-zone/give-silent-hunter-4-a-memory-boost.shtml
It allows SH4 to use 4 gigs 'o ram. Might fix your issue.

thanks. I gave that a try and didn't stop the corruption/crash. Here's a pic of what it looks like for a few moments before it crashes.

I can obviously run the campaign fine in stock 1.5
I can also run campaigns from Pearl in TMO 2.5
Here's what else I tried
- verified files via steam. (434 were replaced)
- removed RFB 2.0 completely, downloaded it again and re-activated it.
I just don't get it....

What's the version of the game you've downloaded from Steam? Look at the bottom right corner of the game "Main" menu screen. What does it read:

I have version 1.5 but i'm happy to say that i've resolved the issue. Here's how:
I remember that a suggested fix for stuttering issues with Silent Hunter 5 Battle of the Atlantic was to create a NEW desktop shortcut to the game's exe.
I tried this in silent hunter 4, this, along with the large address fix has solved the issue and everything runs fine with no crashing or corruption.
