View Full Version : Hello!! A strange idea......
Hello boys!!!
I'm Andrea, from Italy, and let me tell you... this community is incredible!!!
With you, SH3 (with all those awesome mods) has just come back to life, beautiful!!! :salute:
Now i'm intrigued with create some mods, that would be gorgeous!!
In your opinion, could be possible to make, let's say a panel somehow, to simulate the startup procedure for diesel engines?? Am i crazy??? :arrgh!:
What do you think?
Thanks for all your input guys!!!

Welcome :sunny:
Thanks for all your welcome!
My idea was to make some sort of panel (possibly without sacrifing anything) with the necessary switches and other things to simulate the startup process of a typical uboat diesel engine!!! :smug:
But the biggest problem, for me, would be reprogramming part of sh.exe file.
It should be a realistic thing, ie: if i'm submerged, and accidentally stop the engine, automatically a "full stop" should be ordered.
Or, for example, it shouldn't be possible to startup the engine when underwater, and so on...
But i think that these ways of functioning, are programmed in the exe itself, and that's a big problem!! :nope:
What do you think about? Is there a chance to make this come true?
Thanks to all, Andrea.
mmhhhh....
i don't find actually any other way to "reprogramming" some of these behaviors...
could you suggest something??

Bufff! dont know, but the idea sound good!....:timeout:
I agree with you.
In fact, i just wanted to know if someone knew "where" and "what" to touch to modify these behaviors.
I want to spend my freetime with this idea in mind, just a little pointing in this direction would be useful.
Thanks anyway, Andrea.

Start of diesel engines is included in Thompsen's sound pack. I'm working on my supermod, where this sound is played automaticaly when surfaced. (But it is ugly to listen in raw wathers. Engine is starting all the time...)
I don't think there is much more methods how to implement this. SH3 have his limitations...
