if i install lwami will i still be able to run original scenarios?

Yes you will, but they might be somewhat more difficult because of increased sensor ranges. you might find yourself getting instantly detected in some of them - but they'll still run.

You probably experience a few changes in game play as explained above but other than that the answer is yes.

Some missions require adjustment in the Mission Editor to prevent automatic counterdetection when the mission begins. Any mission as an American sub must have the initial speed changed from 5 knots to 3 knots to remain silent.

If you want to enable mods and then not enable them use the JSGME mod enabler. It works for everything except the RA mod. Use a clean and seperate installation for that.
