hi guys im new to SH3 and have already gotten help with the basics. anyway I've tried to install gwx but whenever I try it always gives me a message that says it detected mods but I haven't modded the game not even in the past (this is 1st time having sh3) currently I've uninstalled the game and I have a DVD version that comes already patched to 1.4. anyway I really need help please.:wah:

I got gwx installed now I have some questions. 1st how do I make my crew speak german? 2nd I want to install hardcoded fixes mod by H. Sie but when I installed it I did something wrong how do I install it and can u send me a link?

hi avers,

the German or English options are handled in game. After loading screen click on options and select your preference of English or german under voices language (you will also see choices for keyboard and text language as well)

For hsies mod, you first need to patch your .exe file and select the options you like in the patcher. Definitely choose the 4gb option. There is also an additional mod folder which you install with it. There are several options and steps to this process. Best is to read the readme which is very complete and well documented.

h.sie's hard-coded fixes (the download is actually called V16B1-Patch-Kit.7z) includes a patcher which inserts machine code changes directly into your copy of sh3.exe. (That is the only way to make "hard-coded fixes.") V16B1-Patch-Kit IS NOT A MOD. It does not simply install with JSGME. There is a procedure which must be followed to properly insert the patches into sh3.exe and set up the patched .exe and some additional support files into a mod installable with JSGME. The setup and installation instructions, found in Readme_V16B1.pdf, which is included in V16B1-Patch-Kit.7z, are clear, comprehensive, and complete. But the setup is not intuitively obvious. RTD. If you do not, then you are wasting your time trying to use this very valuable tool, because you won't get the setup right by trial and error.

Hey guys i was playing sh3 and I was only using gwx not fixes and I started a career in August 1939 and when I loaded the game there were no other ships spawning in port. Is that normal? Also I did't install hardcoded fixes because in the read me some of the stuff was to technical for me to understand.

In particular which order are they in?

If you have either the Black Sea or Indian Ocean campaign files enabled, you will only see shipping in those areas.

hey guys ive been playing the game for a while and ive returned to home base but now whenever I try to loads the game the game keps crashing halfway through the loading screen help me please

How about first answering the question of the mod list. As changing mods in mid-patrol is a sure cause for a crash.

I've deactivated all mods in jsgme and it's still crashon

Any activation of other mods while on patrol, or deactivation of mods that you need for your campaign may cause trouble. Also, drastically removing all robs you of the chance of noticing which one might be the culprit. Better try one at a time and test if it behaves differenty.

You may have changed mods in between patrols, but some modded files might be required for the campaign that you have started.

Since you are unwilling to provide details of which mods you are using, I only have one suggestion: Remove and reinstall the game entirely. Start from scratch.

Yesterday I started a career like I said only using gwx 3.0 notin else in jsgme was active. Anyway I started in August 39 starting in wilhemshalvin and I went to Aelesund in Norway I saved the game there and exited the game and renamed some crew. Today I loaded the Game via sh3 commander travels from Aelesund Norway to wilhemshalvin saved the game exited out and renamed some crew and then when I loaded it it crashed halfway through loading. There's your info

There's your infoDid you happen to save while submerged? This is known to cause game instability. See GWX 3 manual (pdf page 27, internal pagecount 14)

Also, you seem to have saved in the vicinity of a harbor each time. The GWX 3 manual doesn't say anything about saving with other units in the vicinity leading to a crash (or being in a 50 km vicinity of a port leading to a crash. But it does say that this may lead to stange behaviour of these units, like moving straight ahead like a zombie (not following waypoints anymore). Some people say this could be the cause for a savegame failure, but I am not sure if this is a SH3-urban myth. Either way, this is undesirable for game play. So, even if you do not see any units around you, they might still be outside of visual range. Better check you hydrophone by listening manually if there might still be something around. This goes out at least to 34 km. So keep your distance to any unit of which you know where they are, when you do your save. It's a pain in the aft, but that is this game's nature.

hey guys whenever I start a career in sh3 no ships spawn in port and nothing in jsgme is activated in fact I need to have lite harbor traffic activated for ships to spawn in port. is that normal?

Enable the Merged Campaign mod via JSGME and see if that populates your harbour.

I agree blitz that's why I did't install hardcoded fixes.
