Hi Everyone,

I have looked whether this issue has been posted and couldn't find so
I am taking the liberty of starting a new one.

I am (graphically) missing the sub icon when I pull out the map; I
can see the waypoints but I don't have the faintest idea where the
sub is cause the sub icon is missing; needless to say I have some
mods on but is there an easy way to restore the icon without messing
with the mods?
Thanks in advance for any hint or help.

PS: It is, thus far, not a crucial issue but it is an annoying one. :shifty:

Click on “Clipboard”

Paste to your Post.

Hi Again,

I have had the free time again to deal with this issue and it goes like
this:

I uninstalled everything -game included- and reinstalled the mods
again and to my surprise the missing icon is there which means I must
have done something wrong. :oops:
Thing is: now it CTD's when travelling on map mode with time compression on; :wah:

The Real Nav mod removes it from the map for realism. Is this what you mean?

If you think about it yes. Can you know exactly where your sub is at all times? No. Can you know where it is with proper navigation yes. Approximately.

Hi Peter,

Done what you asked but the game still ctd; but now I can tell
you that it is ALWAYS when I am approaching (not leaving) my
home port and if I reload again it will, go figure, run smoothly.
Any ideas or will I have to put up with the ctd's?

SH5 as seen below but now it ctd's when loading the game :wah:

You cannot have both breeze and gale.

Keep one and remove one.

That is the only problem that I can see.

No, it still crashes without any notice and back to the uplay thanking
me for having played SH5.
Can anyone help me, does anyone have ANY idea what might be causing the crashes?
And before asking, my pc runs other more demanding games, both
graphically and in matters of processor, smoothly.

I can see what might be your problem?

You can only have 1 patch and you have selected 2 patches one of them is for STOCK

REMOVE THIS

Hi Peter,

I've done as instructed but the game keeps on crashing; always on the
navmap with time compression on; most of the times when approaching
my home harbour but sometimes on high sea. I've googled like crazy
and though some people have experienced ctd's of some sort I could
not find one pertaining my situation; more than frustrated or enraged
I am exhausted.

Are you on your way to Kiel after completing the Baltic Mission?

If yes, then this can be a common problem as you get closer to Kiel and resources start to get heavier.

I have done the Baltic many times but only once without a ctd.

You may have to go back more than one save, and try again.

I was doing manual saves every 15 minutes and TC max 8 and did not use the same course as before, just to mix it up a bit.

Did you patch your files with TDW's patcher, and if so, have you patched your files correctly, ensuring that you added any patches or menu entries that are required by any patch within the patcher, such as the torpedos mod you are using? And conversely, ensure that you have not patched anything that you don't need, especially those that require a patch. Also, don't touch the "Advanced" section, IIRC.

If you did use the patcher, perhaps start the patcher from scratch with the vanilla files, adding only the basics, or perhaps just do that torpedo patch until you can be certain that it is or isn't the problem.

Wow! I have been doing that for such a long time that I couldn't remember why .. until reading your post! I vaguely remember something about problems associated with actually docking. It was cool to do, but not if there were CTDs. :hmmm:
