flickering on the Horizon

Hi I am using a temp laptop instead of my pc and am managing to run sh3 with nygm but I am getting a flickering on the horizon almost like a triangle I seem to remember some posts about the solution but cannot find the answer by searching, any ideas please

Your graphics display is indicating a sighting but unable to resolve it. Your laptop video is the issue. Try different settings, but that is what the triangles are.

Had this problem years ago with a graphics card that wasn't up to the job...upgraded and all was well.
