Hi,

Just noticed while trying to maneuver my boat into the bunker, that any reverse throttle speed, except full reverse, will still cause my ship to accelerate forward. Also, with engines stopped I still have some thrust, resulting in the impossibility to fully stop my ship.

What might be causing this?

Hiya,

I can't remember the last time i tried to manually dock

I just use the anchor symbol to dock to enter the bunker

I know years ago when i did manually dock it was such a long painful experience lol

I'm all for realistic but for me after a long patrol a bit of 'cheat' aint that bad lol

Maybe someone who does manually dock might be able to help

ps : might be worth pasting what mods if any you have installed

By manually docking is when I noticed the problem. I'll test now on open sea, but I do remember noticing that my boat never stopped while submerged, and even on reverse thrust, I was still moving forward. While docking I just noticed how severe the problem is.

You're right with the mod list. Down here it is... It's based on Sober's list, although heavily modified.

You will continue to move forward until the forward speed is bled off. Order up an ahead bell and then go to external camera. Go under the water and look at the propellers. Note which way each is turning. Order a back bell. Does each propeller turn the opposite direction?

I had this once before . It was mods conflicts if I remember correctly . Try a tested mod list , not your own .

If it's a mod conflict, then I guess I will try and live with it. I don't think I'm ready for more reinstalling adventures. In the last month, I think I have reinstalled this game about 15 times.

Sober, the mod list I have is based strongly on yours. As I made changes, I know it's not guaranteed to work anymore. At the beginning I think I only have Accurate German Flags and SteelViking's Interior Mod. The biggest changes are actually towards the end.

Is there any mod that might tamper with engines towards the end of my list? By the names, none seem to, but who knows...

I had to stop using the tdw newui mods cause I always experienced that problem of not being able to stop in either direction. With csp maguie mod I don't have that problem. It is a shame cause I also like tdw new ui mods.:06:

So probably it's a mod conflicting with TDW's UI then. I'll see if I can pinpoint it down, as I don't think I can pass without TDW UI anymore.

I'm too used to his GUI now...


[EDIT]: Ok, I found what was causing it in my case. Disabling independent engine control patches and it's dependencies in the generic patcher solved the issue. I'm not using it anyways, so I don't mind. Only reason I would have used it would be if I had a broken rudder and couldn't turn, but I'm not even sure this is possible with this engine. It might be the patch in conjunction with another mod though, or more people would have noticed it.

Anyway, I'll post in the patcher's thread too.
