If this is out there, it didn't show up on a search, so I thought I'd post this.
Without doing this, you'll get error messages that make it look like the program can't run under windows 7. This is misleading, the program runs fine, it just needs the right privileges.
Getting RSM 1.2 to work under Win 7. This is REALLY SIMPLE
1. Right click on either the .exe, or the shortcut you've created
2. Select "Properties"
3. Click on the "Compatibility" tab
4. Check the "Run this program as an administrator" box
5. Hit the "OK" button
Now for the why.
Making changes to files located inside the Program Files or Program Files(x86) directory under Windows 7 requires administrative privileges. So w/o giving the program this status, it prevents the writes it needs to do and causes it to crash. RSM was written in the days of XP when security was a little more lax and this was not an issue.
Digital Trucker needs to be thanked for writing it in a manner that it still works under Win7.
