I couldn't come up with a better post title.
Anyway, this appears to be great example of the First and Fourth amendments being disregarded by the government. I think it is, but read it and decide for yourself.

AA County. That is were I live. This was out a few days ago. It certainly does look like law enforcement overstepped it's bounds.

This kind of thing won't stop because the agent would be personally held responsible for the action.
They should change the law so that when such things happen, it is not just a civil suit, but a criminal one as well. If it did happen, someone in the police force must be held guilty (so it is either specific agents or the commander) and punished with only the maximum prison term (no discretion).
Only with the threat of personal consequences can be have any hope such abuses will be stopped :stare:

It is not the military we need to be worried about. The police are the agency most likely to infringe on our civil rights.

The Santa Rosa shooting did not involve a 'toy gun'.
It was an AirSoft replica of an AK-47 with the orange part removed/painted.
AirSoft and Air Guns are NOT toys! I have a .25 cal that can cause real bad damage out to nearly 100 yards. The SMG 22 is .22 cal and full auto!
If your within 50 yards? It can mow you down. Is that a Toy?
Did the officers over react? I believe so. But I also feel the parents failed thier jobs too.
This is my .25 cal Sniper.

No. It doesn't itch.
:D
Snags alot at times depending on the brush.
Most of my shooting positions are well used and approaches optimized to reduce snags though.
I often wonder if many of the Bigfoot sighting are Kids with something like this though!

I agree. Governments abuse us, legally, economically, sometimes physically, because they can. Only when there are real consequences, will they think twice.

You're not like this one kid at the paintball field, who wore the ghilie (sp) suit, then would hide on the path sans cover.:har:

Those Airsoft and similar brand are designed to look very realistic and they do.They have a huge market in Europe and Asia where buying a real military style firearm is impossible. The first time I ever saw some it was at a friends house in the military he had them in his "man cave" leaned against a wall.
An M16,CAR15 and a M16 with M203 I thought they where real and was actually a bit stunned for a second because I assumed that he had stolen them.It was only after he told me and I looked at them that I could they where not "real" as in not a real 5.56mm firing rifle. They do however operate just like the rifle they are molded after and even have working bolts. In a split second situation even a person experienced with firearms would take them to be real.they also are made of metal and synthetic parts just like the weapon they imitate.Hell some of them cost nearly $1,000.He bought his in Japan where they do not require the orange tips of course you can remove those easily.
Put it this way if you where conceal carrying(a jumpy generally fearful person especially) and someone came at you with an Airsoft out of the blue you'd draw and fire too or be highly likely too.If you had no gun you'd try to run or smash the dudes face in because to you it looks like a 100% real full power AK-47 or M-16 or what ever gun it is made after.

I confess to knowing pretty much nothing about Airsoft guns. What did you mean when you wrote that your .25 cal can cause "real bad damage" out to nearly 100 yards? A bad bruise? Break the skin?
What would happen if you were to shoot me with an Airsoft Gun at a range of about 10 feet?
Traditional Air Guns have a long history of being efficient killers. Are Airsoft guns "toys for kids" or are they as potentially dangerous as a more traditional air gun?
Other than pictures, I don't think I have even seen an Airsoft gun.

My .25 cal Air Gun is a Hatsan 125 Sniper model manufactured in Turkey.
It's a break barrel type useing a Crosmann Nitro-Piston instead of the spring to fire the pellet. It's considered a Magnum Springer due to the power it has.
In the UK and some other Countries? Mine would be illegal unless de-tuned to fire at a lower power level. :D
Right now it punches through 5 gallon buckets at 70+ yards and has taken out Ground Hogs at that distance. So I'd not like to be hit with it myself!
:o
AirSoft is designed to be used to shoot each other. (I'd bet it still stings!)
Our good friend 'Dan the Man' elanaiba is big into AirSoft and could give better answers on the subject.
AirSoft fires a plastic BB where Air Guns use lead pellets or Steel BBs.
As kids We often had 'Wars' with the Steel BB type Air Guns as there was no such thing as an AirSoft back then. It was stupid and BBs were dug out of more then one of us. :haha:
