I already saw that the solution for gwx lock not holding was increasing the periscope max range in sensors.cfg. ...but i dont have perisoce setings there only radio radar hydrophone and other but no perisocpe...Am I looking at the right file. And dont know does it have to do with the same thing but i sometimes lose lock even on much shorter ranges, and now playing with Many merchants mod it kills me to go to recognition book to find it again...while im here, Im using this method to manual aquire a solution...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNjp6Jt-OQw. Does anybody have a simpler or would recomend a different kind?

how far are you using the periscope to try to get a lock? I have noticed that if one is over 5 KM the lock won't hold at all.
and your sometimes loose lock on shorter ranges comment how far is shorter ranges to you and is it under heavy weather?

its was on very short range...actualy on convoy tutorial mission so 1500m ( i was testing the above mentioned system for manual solution ). It holds lock for some time but when i move to map to get draw bearings and such sometimes it forgets the target...and sometimes in the middle of the actual aiming proces when i try to reaquire range it loses lock and "forgets"its target. Im using the default gwx interface with 10x periscope zoom if that means anything

It's the original manual targeting thing on which all the other GUI mods are based on and has good documentation on how to use the tools that the mod adds.
After you learn how to use them you don't need to lock anymore. Neither is recognizing the ship necessary. You only need to guess the mast height and ship length close enough.
