I have OH II, Beast's Equipment Upgrades and SteelViking's Interiors.

I really don't want to start over just yet. So ones that do not need a new game would be helpful.

What do you guys recommend ??

Well, so far I download the "NewUIs_TDC_7_4_2_TheDarkWraith" and got very over whelmed, I changed the clock face or dial face , but it had a .dds file there already. There was also about 6 or so other mods that I had to read up on and went to sleep in the process. Think I'd better wait a while on that. :huh:

On a more positive note, I've found that using low time compression , I'm able to take a nap going and coming from the North Sea.That's defiantly peeked my interest.:rock:

And one more thing, what are you guys using to edit ".sim " files ???

Goblin Editor (it is a tool released together with the game; you can find it in the root SH5 directory), or Silent 3ditor (http://s3d.skwas.com/downloads.aspx). More experienced modders also use to hex edit them, but going by what you said in your first post, it doesn't seem to be a viable solution for you :D :salute:

I was going try get a few more deck gun rounds,( couldn't get the mod to work ).

Using Goblin is really easy once you understand how it works: there is not really much to learn about it. I suggest you reading the Complete Idiots Guide to Goblin Editor (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1328039#post1328039) before you start messing with it. It contains instructions on how to set the editor the first time you use it, and some general information on how to open and edit sim, zon, etc, files.

P.S: something not written in the tutorial: if your OS has the Aero theme enabled, and Goblin's drop-down boxes are flickering, follow the instructions below: :03:

Right click on the exe file and select Properties. Under the compatibility tab ensure Disable visual themes is checked :up:

Well, it looks like I may have a problem.
Do any of the merchant ships have a big cannon rather than just the multiple small ones ? Getting sunk by big guns from merchants.
I'm in the last month of " Coastal Waters " June 7, 1940 and also lost my map icons. ( little crosses ) hmmmmmm.

Or I just may need to start a new game.:wah:

Mapicons: probably realism setting .. real maps dont update your position for you .. depending on the realism you have set, mapcontact wont be shown.

Ask your navigator te REPORT either a dead reckoning or a celestial fix. He'll mark the navmap for you (depending on mods used)

Merchants in coastal waters have no guns .. but destroyers manage snipe you from 5000+ meters ;) Altho, depending on where you are, the destroyer should be dead or not in range.


Which mods did you enable ?

I increased the ammo limit on the 10.5 Cm deck gun using the Goblin.
I,m definitely getting hit with large bore single shots from merchants now as well as Destroyers.

It may have something to do with the " one ship, one torpedo mod "
I only have OH 2, Beast's Equipment Upgrades and Iron-Vikings Interiors.

I'll have to test a little more I guess.

Edit: Ok got it, something was conflicting with the " 1 Ship, 1 Torpedo Mod "
Just what, I can't say.
