This mod replaces the Philipp_Thomsen version that was out of date. Now you can download all the mods for Sober's mega-mod in one single file.

Visit the link above, donate (at least 5 bucks) and you'll have access to the single file with all the 50+ mods. If you have previously donated, your status as a member of the SUBSIM Navy will allow you access to download this mega pack.
The list is updated with the latest mods as last week.
To keep updating, all you need to do is download individual mods when they are released/updated (optional).
"We have to start paying for mods now?"
No.
However, SUBSIM must survive somehow. We all love this place, either to chat, to share what we love, to search for mods to
improve our game experience, and heck, even for "customer service" regarding mods/game and how to make them work together.
When it comes to paying 5 bucks to having all that, makes me sad to see that some people would rather spend it on a pack of cigarettes.
It's not even 5 per week or month, it's just 5 once, that's it. I gave 50, twice. And I'm making minimum wage where I live, paying high rent.
If you think 5 bucks is too much to sustain a place where you visit everyday, then you're not a true Subsimmer.

I downloaded both of the megamods for sh5. I was really hoping for an easy way to mod SH5 without having to shuffle mods around. Unfortunately neither mod archive included a .mep file, which would have been amazing.
I am happy to say after a long break I am back in the Atlantic, I also down loaded this mod pack which looks pretty awesome. However what order do I use to enable them. I tried sober MEP but that fails due to many missing mods, Halp!!

I also found that pack has some mods missing. Therefore, I had to download missing packs manually.

I've installed R.E.M_by_Xrundel_TheBeast_1.2 - no hyd on surface - NewUIs-IRAI compatible mod and now hydrophone works perfectly. :salute:

I've installed R.E.M_by_Xrundel_TheBeast_1.2 - no hyd on surface - NewUIs-IRAI compatible mod and now hydrophone works perfectly. :salute:Usee my mega mod list and play on 100% realism . Real navigation is not hard . Just use the compass to point in the direction you want to go . Everytime the navigatoe marks the navmap with an X the game drops to 1TC so you can adjust your course . You can turn the 1TC off for long runs at the click of an icon . It couldn't be easier .

I tried to activate Sub Flags for SH5 v0.0.8 but it's crushing the game unfortunately. :)
I downloaded both of the megamods for sh5. I was really hoping for an easy way to mod SH5 without having to shuffle mods around. Unfortunately neither mod archive included a .mep file, which would have been amazing.

take a look at sober mod list there is a .mep file and and in my mod list there is another .mep file click (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=192374)...
My mod list is with MagUI Interface
The name of this pack is Sober Silent Hunter 5 Mega Mod (New Version) ?
I ask because I see 2 different pack on the area premium

My mod list is with MagUI Interface
Both your and sobers list dont seem to be made for your mod list Sjizzle. In the JGME, loading either profiles (with the mega mod pack) brings up the error window with about 20 mods missing.

I'm just now getting into SH5 and I must say the mod list posted earlier is intimidating. The last time I played was SH# Grey Wolves. Now I see there is a 50 and 100 mega-mod download. I'm more of a casual player that enjoys eye candy. I have no desire to perform plotting for torp solutions and I want to keep my exterior view. The one time I tried this when it fo=irst came out I was disappointed when I could never hit a ship unless I was exactly at 90 degrees, has that been fixed? Or was I doing something wrong, I treated it exactly like SH3, locked on where I wanted the fish to go and fired when they were less then 600 meters. Also, is there an option to lock the view on your boat when you do the external view? I hated chasing my boat with the camera to try and enjoy the view of cruising along.
I must admit that I had expected some sort of reply.

You dont have to go whole hog .. Its actually better that you dont until you see how your system takes to everything ..

You will instant CTD(At least I do ) if you mess with the guy in base who upgrades your sub at very beginning of game if you skip tutorial which you should .. ... CTD Specifically when you close the sub upgrade panel .. No reason to even talk to him tho as first mission your sub is already ready to go .. Doesnt seem to be an issue later on but im playing thru with it now and i may run into something .. Pretty basic tho, so i expect its stable enough ..

Ive just got them tacked on the end there and they might cause an issue But they are good mods each one adds a specific thing so dont just discount them either they are part of the vision .. I removed them because of earlier crash i mentioned and just tacked them back on after i realised they werent the problem , they arent in conflict where they are(pretty sure ) .. But they arent placed exacly where i want them either and too lazy to reorganise it just now .. ,Besides , Its working pretty well so far ..

You can take IRAI by the Darkwraith out if you want an easier game also ..
I love the mod personally but when you install it suddenly enemy start acting like enemy , Like for real ,, they hate you , and want to kill you , Airplanes particularly become a problem ..and they should be .. But Its your choice .
You should at least glance at Dyn env thread because there is too much there for me to say . The way i have it set up in this list is Not how i will ultimately have it .. But its just an example and it does work and its impressive .. Its a bit dark at night so be warned ..
Its a very trans-formative list all in all .Everything will be changed ,From the sub to the crew, to the weather ,to the campaign , Nothing untouched and we are working with only around 10 main mods and the submods that can be used with them .Mix and match , Read the forums .
Also .. Find some radio mods .. Great for immersion .. GL

tried again to put the mega mod on followed instructions but still had blank screen when i unistall the mod it runs some how i must be doing something wrong,can some one make a self installer like piraes ahoy have, i dont seem to have succsess using the mod installer please help:wah:

tbh i don't understand what u mean... u get blank screen when u have the mods installed or uninstalled?

when its installed i get the blank screen when i unistall it back to basic game its ok any ideas would be welcome

if u have used the tdw's patcher u need to w8 a bit till the game is synchronize the time depends of the computer spec.
also take a look if the folder structure is correct in the mod folder ....

Hi guys, I used to play SH back in the days when SH3 and the grey wolves was the newest and best complete overhaul around. So, after migrating to air sims, mainly dcs now, i'm ready to come back to SH.
BUT...... I remember SH5 in its infancy was, well, pretty poor...... I see now its moded, so could someone please guide me in the right direction to a good overhaul mod please (hopefully on par with The Grey Wolves).
I'm a dedicated simmer, so total realism, career progression, immersion and suspense are my perquisites for a mod. If there is one that fits this or as close as, then please, enlighten me.
I have a pretty powerful gaming rig too, so if its resource intensive, that's not too much of an issue.

Now, THAT is a serious accusation...:)
Seriously, those two should not be compared because SH5 in it's stock state is so broken that consequences are even noticeable today . I would call it "playable" with few unique features, like best ever real navigation, ability to use sextant and navigate like true WW2 captain, highest level of customization thanks to few handy apps ect...:yep:
Oh ok, well, maybe I will just go back to SH3 then, as I don't want to ruin my naval warfare experience :) Also, I know SH3 well, so I can just jump straight into it :)
What about SH4? Was that improved through mods? I remember it had a decent mod list, and I'm sure there was talk about bring an Atlantic campaign to it.....

Hi. After 4 or more years I try to back to SH sims.
I try to download this mega pack and try it, but.
Is there any better more realistic harder mod ?? I dont what to DL to many files because of subsim forum limits.
Give me some tips. I remember SH3 + GW mod. that was something, now I wont something similar.

Hello all, i have been away from sub for a while now. Played a lot of SH3 a few years ago and have now decided to give SH5 ago. Managed to install with no problems and have WOS MOD installed without real nav. All went well with no problems thanks to vdr1981's helpful instructions and THEBERBSTER's tips.
Loving the All in one MOD so far, Big thanks to all the Moders!
I have just a few little problems. The 1st is the UI which has a bug showing the correct speed setting when under water. I heard you could change the ui using an options app but i cannot find it anywhere in my SH5 directory? Any help in finding it would be great!

Also my ship systems page is in German, as well as my identification charts. Everything else is in English. Any way to get these in English? Plus i cannot find the button to send mast height to TDC.
One last thing, twice i have received a hydrophone contact report of Warship, when i close on the target and have a look there is nothing there. If i go back under it is there again. Is this a whale? Do i need to discipline my sound guy?

The TDW' Option File Editor Viewer you are referring to comes with TWOS or can be installed as a stand alone.
The integrated one is in this path Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\mods\The Wolves of Steel 1.05\data\Applications\OptionsFileEditorViewer
If you prefer to use a stand alone version then use

To make changes to the OFEV your mods need to be disabled first.
To change the UI style.

I heard screeching noises in the hydrophone and thought it was a fault as it was showing as a merchant.
I did an accurate 4 bearings on it and I could see porpoises through the periscope.

Thanks for the reply, managed to get the HUD sorted and have found the Stadimeter, thanks for the help!
Those whales almost got me killed, sound guy reported a sub medium range, i thought Poland doesn't have any subs must be whales again.... it wasn't Poland did have subs, atleast i hope it was Polish, didnt have a flag, torpedoed it anyway, just in case.... :o

There is a Polish sub in the Baltic Operation that I have come across a few times when surfaced and picked up on the hydrophone.
It is passive and not something you can take action against.

I managed to sink her, fired a magnetic torpedo under her as she only had a 1m draft, debris floated to the surface. Counted on my patrol score as well. She was north of the bay about 10km on the way to kiel.
