View Full Version : Mods not working with JSGME
Hi all..... Everytime I load the mods into the MODS folder in the root of Silent Hunter 5 and install them with JSGME they do not appear in the game. If I manually add they work. Any ideas?

Could be different stuff, such as wrong folder strucure copied to your MODS folder.
I would recommend to download the JSGME documentation, read it carefully and follow the steps described there.
You can download the documentation here:

Hi and thanks. I cant dl that document as I've reached my limit today. But I have used JSGME before with no probs. Its a clean install and JSGME was copied to C:Ubisoft/ Silent Hunter 5
This is the default place. When I ran JSGME the first time I clicked ok on the MODS folder install. I really cant see any reason why its not copying the mods to the directories :-/

@ plimmy:
I RECOMMEND THAT ALL JSGME USERS UPDATE TO THIS LATEST VERSION! There are no benefits running an earlier version of JSGME.
INSTALLATION
JSGME can be installed one of two ways:
==1. CENTRAL INSTALLATION==
You can install the JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) to a central location and point it to each of your games through creating shortcuts. To do this:
install JSGME to a central location (for example, “C:\Games\Generic Mod Enabler”). Keep the “Create a desktop icon” option selected in the installer
once installed, DO NOT RUN! Copy and paste the newly created JSGME desktop shortcut as many times as you have games and change the “Start in” folder of each shortcut to point to each game’s base folder. To change the “Start in” folder, right-click the shortcut, select “Properties” and then the “Shortcut” tab.
rename each shortcut to something meaningful, such as “JSGME - GameName1”, “JSGME - GameName2”, “JSGME - GameName3” and so on. To rename a shortcut, simply right-click the shortcut and select “Rename”
Using JSGME with subsequently installed games is simply a matter of copying, pasting and editing an existing shortcut (steps 2 and 3 above). And whenever JSGME is updated, you only need to install it once.
==2. SEPARATE INSTALLATION==
If you prefer, you can install separate copies of JSGME into each of your games. To do this, simply install JSGME to the base folder of the game that you would like to mod. The base folder usually contains the game’s main executable file and usually has a name unique to the game. If in doubt, consult the game’s online community. If you keep the “Create a desktop icon” option selected, the installer will add a uniquely named shortcut to your desktop.

You're welcome.
Hi...well this is odd. I tried all of the things to no avail. Its def installing in the games folder as it creates a MODS folder. And JSGME says it has put the mods in the game. But they don't show up in game... Only if I do it manually. Anyone have any ideas?

Screenshot looks fine. Ie. install path etc.
The mod TDW New Ui, is it currently working?
If not, check the folder inside the mod, the install path is not correct, when d/l it. You have to do some manual work to install it correctly to use with jsgme.
I ve found a lot of sh 5 mods, after d/l and unzipping, the install paths are incorrect.
Ah...... yes I see the mods folder inside it now. Haha trust me to use that mod as a test. Thanks for the help :)
