Fellow Patriots.
I would like to know if there is a work-around for the following issue:
http://i.imgur.com/KQkd9l0.jpg
Out of the 2 threads i found regarding this issue, neither 1 addressed a fix or solution for it.
I am wanting to create new fonts to place into game(s) and it's impossible at the moment without this feature working.
Thank you in advance.

You guys Down Under never did take up arms against this tyranny, did you?
Actually, we did. And you were there with us.

When I get home I'll see if something similar happens to me, Feur Frei. If this is for a mod, I look forward to it :salute:

Hello mates,
it is the same result here - opening .off in S3D shows a black screen.
You will have to open the .tga with Gimp, PS or something else.
The .off just gives you the coordinates for each letter.
You will have to replace the characters in the .tga and maybe adjust the coordinates in the .off.

Hi.
Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't silent 3ditor the only way to 'align' the fonts in the tga, via the off file?
Case in point:
i have a tga file with the new font saved, ready to import.
However, no alignment is possible for this new font due to the black screen.
The creation of a off file is possible however the font, once imported into game is never alligned properly and ie renders it useless.
You suggest replacing the font.
But this still leaves me unable to use the font.
Viewing of the font via the off file is vital (i would assume). To allign font correctly so that game can place text properly.
W/o the view, no new font can be alligned!?
NOTE: skwasjer when posting his tut on font creation used silent 3ditor v0.9 and admitted that it contained 2 bugs that "made it nearly impossible to create new off files from scratch".
He assured us that the 2 bugs would be fixed in v0.9.1.
That begs the question:
would an older version of silent 3ditor, ie v0.9 or 0.8.1 work?
(older versions are not available unless requested from its home page)
Is it possible to obtain an older version? Specifically v0.9, or 0.9.1?
skwasjer was able to show font in off file in silent 3ditor v0.9.

No probs with v0.99 (http://s3d.skwas.com/downloads.aspx) here:

Did you consider that both .off and .tga files must be in the same folder?

Absolutely.
I created a dds with new font, placed it into a folder, and fired up silent 3ditor, created a new off file, immediately saved it to same folder as dds, ensuring off has exact same name as dds.....and still black screen!

So no-one has a solution to this?
@SquareSteelBar:
did you get my pm?
Are you able to open my font incl. in file?
Surely there has been members (who are still on these forums) who have changed fonts and more importantly, alligned the fonts with silent 3ditor?
Can i suggest to someone willing and free of a couple of minutes to send them my tga and off file for perusal on their s3ditor to see if it's a issue on my end?
Would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Just installed S3D on Win7 in a VM - same result as you got -> black screen...
On XP [even in a VM] it works like a charm.
So maybe the .off file feature isn't compatible to Win7?
and I'm talking about it... :haha:

@ SSB:
Thanks for testing this.
I can't install VM since vm only works on win 7 professional upwards.
Not on win 7 home.
