Decided to get back into SH3 again after a long break. I did a fresh install onto a "newer" computer running windows 7 professional edition. Started the game with SH3 Commander, 1st Flotilla, August 8th 1939. When I start I don't have the GWX mission orders, 5 day shakedown patrol then dock at home, etc. All it shows are the normal SH3 orders with patrol grid, start base, return base.

Patched version of SH3 from Gamefly

JSGME version 2.2.0.120 with following mods enabled
16km atmosphere
alternate load screen
captain america's icons
enhanced damage effects
integrated orders
no medals on crew
open hatch mod

SH3 Commander version 3.2.0.203 with following options
skip intro movies
use historic uboat availability dates
real ship names in log
randomise gramophone
hide hull integrity
no fatigue
random ship tonnage
random crush depth

My first thought, did you install the GWX SH3 Commander .cfg files?

Hum...you did select the flotilla and start date in SH3 too, right? I'm just trying to cover all the usual things here.:hmmm:

Yes, I did that too. I've installed the game before and everything worked, just not this time. I think I'm just going to uninstall and try again.

Probably a good idea. I was quickly running out of ideas. Good luck!

Uuummm...IIRC, starting in August of '39 on any date other than the 1st of August, thoroughly "confuses" the game and you will not get the 5-day shakedown patrol mission.

I'm sort-of-sure, but not absolutely positive, that if you start any time after the first (and certainly after the 6th, when you would have completed a 5-day patrol that started on the first) GWX "assumes" you did complete the shakedown patrol and assigns a follow-on patrol instead (usually follows the "waiting positions" boats were sent to in mid/late August)...or is my memory totally FUBAR on that? Could be...:D

I'm also just curious about which option for days in-port between patrols you have selected in SH3 Commander, random or specified? Maybe that influenced the start date of your "second" patrol.

I did choose August 1st, I don't know why I said August 8th, and I had it set to 21 days in port

Uninstalled everything and re-installed, now fixed! It's good to be back!

Well, since it appears you had done everything right to begin with, it must have been some sort of interference from UFOs :haha: ...or something.

Although, I just had one more crazy thought (happens frequently at this age!)...did you make any changes to either the boat or the crew before starting the patrol? I seem to recall that doing so gave the basic game "heartburn" and perhaps can also cause problems with GWX and/or SH3 CDR. But, if not, then it's back to the UFO "Conspiracy Theory" again.

Regardless, glad you got it working and I wish you "good hunting". :salute:
